You can upload at any of the topic homepages. For example, if you go to the Reflections topic, look in the upper right... There's a shiny section called "Topic Actions." One of the options there is "Upload to this Topic." Once you've uploaded your photo it will show up in that topic!
Before you upload your image to Vazaar, you'll want to save a smaller copy that is optimized for the web. There are two different "sizes" that you need to consider. One is the filesize (kilobytes of the file) and the other is the actual dimensions (number of pixels) of the photo.
Changing the dimensions is usually pretty straightforward. In your photo editing software you should be able to change the "Image size" to whatever you want by typing in the number of pixels. The software will resize the image and set the pixels (height and width) to whatever you specify.
As for changing the filesize, this is usually done during the process of saving. You'll need to save your image as a JPG file. All JPG files have an option to set the "Image Quality" (also known as "Compression".) If you use a lot of compression, then the quality of your image will go down, but you will get a much smaller filesize. If you use very little compression, then the quality of your image will go up and you will get a larger filesize. This is something that you'll want to experiment with to find just the right balance between filesize and image quality.
For the most part a 900 pixel image can have a JPG quality setting of 10 (very, very high) and still be below 400k to fit within the limits of Vazaar.
Vazaar does absolutely no processing on your original images. When you see a large image, you're looking at literally the same file that was uploaded. (Of course, we have to resize your images to create the smaller versions and thumbnails.)
Since Vazaar doesn't process your images in any way, it's likely that you're using a color profile that isn't working the way you want.
Our users have recommended the sRGB (sRGB IEC61966-2.1) color profile. You can read about color profiles on our discussion group.
Nope! You can remove any image that you upload, though. So, feel free to kill the bad one and upload the good one.
Since you made an honest mistake, you shouldn't have to wait that long. We'll figure out a good way to fix this.
If you're viewing the main image page (where you see the original photo), look for the topics that contain the photo. Topics are listed above and below the image. If this is one of your own images, then you'll see a little [X] next to each topic. Just hit that [X] and the image will be removed from the topic. If you remove the image from all of the topics, it won't show up on Vazaar any longer.
We have plans to create an easy way to remove an image from all topics at once. This is listed in our development queue.
You can do this, but right now it's not as simple as it should be. (We're still in the middle of building things around here.) As it stands you can upload the same photo to any number of topics by going to each topic's "Upload" area. If you upload the same exact image, then Vazaar will be able to track all the different topics that the image is in.
In the future you'll be able to easily add previously uploaded images to any topic without having to re-upload. This is listed in our Development Queue.
Yes. You may only upload your own work.
It depends on the laws of your country. If you're in the United States, the following page from the U.S. Copyright Office should be helpful:
