@Sarah: This is a total Photoshop treatment, this started out looking pretty much like this one from the same shoot:
www.vazaar.com/user:Beamer/photos/id:29618/
The background is made from combining a shot of tree bark and a shot of an abstract watercolor painting using various Photoshop transfer modes. Thanks for the comments!!
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 3 days ago:
Clyde,
Love the texture and color of the bark - great contrast with the yellow of the flower. Yeah for Photoshop - it really allows us to do so much in a painterly vein. Nice work and instant favorite for me. Lovely composition.
Best,
Jon

Yes, but the wheat/grass is naked.
matiliberson added a critique 7 days ago:
Amazing colors!! Are those real? Good balance between the grass and the sky
lasiate added a critique 7 days ago:
la saturation est vraiment trop poussée pour moi
apsk121 (Angad Kingra) added a critique 6 days ago:
I agree about the saturation being a bit too high. Another suggestion would be capturing either 1/3rd of the sky or the grass setting the other element take 2/3rd. Excellent image nonetheless!
ple (ferry kana) added a critique 1 hour ago:
high contrast, high saturated !!! just the one that i like !!

Great capture, agree about the people. Shame about the black area above the gate.
juanantonio (J.A. Pellicer) added a critique 3 days ago:
Creo que es una fotografía idonea para el topic, no es usual. Considero que las personas están perfectamente captadas y juegan a favor como elementos comparativos para potenciar el efecto de la atractiva pared. Enhorabuena. Saludos

Great shot - instant fave for me - well seen and well photographed. Congratulations.
Cheers,
Jon

This would be so much better with a deeper DoF to have at least some of the foreground flowers in focus. The image should be straightened a bit based on the vertical lines of the building. The colors are beautiful. The building appears to have graffiti on it, might have been nice to include more of it.
ErikUnger (Erik Unger) added a critique 3 days ago:
Sometimes having the foreground out of focus works perfect, but it just doesn't really work for me in this picture. The building itself seems like an interesting subject, and like Beamer said, that graffiti could add to the subject. Perhaps of we could see more of the building and less of the flowers, the way you have the depth of field would work.

I agree that the colours here are fabulous, but that the dof could be greater to provide a stronger composition.

Very well done ! I like the blood on his face and the way he ''can'' see the cutted neck of his friend.
Poor lil dude, he looks sad :(
sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 3 days ago:
I don't think that's the cutted haead of his friend... I think it is it's own! :p
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 3 days ago:
Tamara, you are correct. Only one fish here, ugh! At least he got to see his own end...
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 3 days ago:
Hi,
I love the detail in the mouth. I would have gone for a major crop and come in on that mouth - a completely different photo to be sure.
Best,
jon

I agree that this is both a disturbing and interesting shot. Perhaps, though, I would like to see a little more of the "guts" side because the detail there looks absolutely fabulous. Well seen and taken.

@diezel99, did you notice the topic?? "Abstract Objects" I understand you comment, but for this topic, I think what you describe as not liking is exactly what the topic intended.
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 10 months ago:
I really like this one, Beamer. The whispy nature just adds to the flow of the colors. And I agree that it is better on your website with the dark gray background. (I might also add, it's a pretty creative use for "a bunch of cables in the equipment room of a computer graphics studio.")

Interesting, painting, can see it on my wall.
Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 9 months ago:
Wonderful abstract Beamer. Abstract is your interpretation of the subject, not someone elses. Nice capture!

Clyde,
This works for me - strong composition and very nice work overall!
Thanks for sharing these two examples of some of your abstract work; a good encouragement for me.

Part of an abstract study I did one day at work with my Panasonic Lumix FX01.
Jessa added a critique 6 months ago:
I do love abstracts. I might either clone out or crop out the lighted cords at the bottom of the image, they do distract a bit.
I could see this image in embrace the blur as well.
boyd added a critique 6 months ago:
This is a wonderfully intriguing image that holds the eye with a beautiful composition. Great colour and use of highlights makes this a very successful shot. Nice work, Beamer.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 3 months ago:
This is a strong abstract - my hunch is this would be even more effective on a larger canvas - I think it loses something in this reduced size and especially against this Vazaar white background.
Best,
Jon

Clyde,
I still like this - it's more powerful than my Monet thing. Did you know that Monet was actually painting what he saw? Poor man!

Just experimenting. Actually, this was an accident while using a long exposure time. But I think the effect is not really bad, she does has something special with those two faces...?
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) said 5 hours ago:
Tamara,
I like this alot. Great atmosphere created not only through the double exposure, but the colors and textures are very emotive, in my opinion. Do you have more from this series? I would like to see more. I know a photographer who really sees like this - not really:-)

Straight from the camera - f22 and long exposure with lots of intentional shake, rattle and roll. Does anyone like this kind of thing? Or is it basically just crap? A kind of instant impressionist copy of Monet...or is it Manet? Just kidding:-)
Best,
Jon
sfkp (Tamara) said 11 hours ago:
Well, did you know Monet actual painted what he could really see? Descendants of Monet appear to have a genetical eye-desease. Monet's vision was very blurry, that's the reason he painted like that.
So... if you call this a copy of Monet's work, you should going to an eye-doctor :)
I like the effect, 'crap'is not the first thing that flows in my mind. I actual kind a like it, but no, I don't want a copy of it on the wall and I don't have to see lots of these on Vazaar either. :) It's something diffrent.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 6 hours ago:
Very nice Jon, I like it, very nice pastel, abstract feel. I fool around with this type of stuff sometimes:

www.vazaar.com/user:Beamer/photos/id:14013/
colors are fabulous! What is that backround? Very striking photo!
