miniTotoro (Natalie) added a critique 1 year ago:

Nice composition. I like the simple aspect of this shot. Well done.

qnadam (Adam Kun) added a critique 1 year ago:

i like the composition, but i think the "frozen" rotors are unnatoral for a flying helicopter.

Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:

Agree with gnadam...implies the helicopter is going to drop straight into the water...and not sure if the water looks natural

gembase (frederic Michiels) said 1 year ago:

nothing was postprocessed on this picture. thanx for your comments.

I agree with you about the effect given by the frozen rotors, but the helicopter was moving so If I would have decrease the sutter speed, the machine would have been blured.

btw, this pic was posted for the stop motion theme :-)

I have to agree with the use of color here--quite nice.

dcuthbert (Daniel Cuthbert) said 1 year ago:

those grey clouds and the contrast of the red of the bus make this image for me. Sometimes you see photographers overdo this style of shot, but it's been done with perfection here.

Reminds me of Belgrade after the war

dpd (Piet Osefius & Rob van Kleef) said 1 year ago:

The colours and the scene of this picture are great, it gives me a surrealistic feeling.

barbro said 1 year ago:

This is a very interesting composition with a fantastic post processing job done to it.
The image has a doomsday feeling to it that I find very appealing.

kyla (Kyla) said 1 year ago:

I think the only thing that would make this image perfect for me is if only there was no one other than the little boy in the image. But I love it regardless.

I have a friend who works for the Padres and had full access to the park - this shot just called out to me. The mow pattern was just perfect!!!

Thanks for the comments!

George said 1 year ago:

I shot this at a snake-quariaum (for lack of a better word) in Costa Rica. It's a River Lizard, as I recall, and was in a glass enclosure, so perhaps that soft area has something to do with the glass? I'm not sure to be honest.

I'm curious, Brant, if what you see is a bit of a distraction :-) Thanks for the comment!

bslomovic (Brant Slomovic) said 1 year ago:

Not a distraction for me George, I still thinks its awesome ;) I did have a suspicion though that it was glass causing what I see as softness.

What an amazing animal, great details.

Thanks riesenriel! And to all who clicked it ;-) This fella's eyeball is one of the things I liked about him.
