awww...poor little guy.

This picture makes me want to comfort him, and tell him that everything will be ok.

kadenajack (Jack) said 1 year ago:

This was taken at a Mardi Gras parade last weekend. I asked why he was crying, and his mom said he saw a scary pirate.

Hmmmm....I don't know how well this fits the theme. For a couple of reasons: 1) THe statue is very busy. 2) The statue takes up a large portion of the image.

Blumie (Sabine) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for the comment. I understand Nr. 2, even I do not know, what is small part of the image. But what do you meen with "busy"? What is a busy statue? Not that I am angry, I just want to understand, to avoid wrong things for the future.

manickavelu (velu) added a critique 1 year ago:

nothing is wrong about this image. it is very well composed & the lighting is good ... along with a nice even background.

i believe what drcphotography meant to say was that it probably doesn't fit the theme "minimalism". All the different clearly identifiable features in the statue adds to the detail & "busy-ness" of the image, rather than make it a minimalistic one.

Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:

This is nicely done, but there is a lot going on with the statue itself which may not make it suited to the theme. Otherwise it's a lovely image.

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

I really like this shot. The composition, mood and sense of solitude are excellent. I just wish that shadow of the tripod wasn't there!

kadenajack (Jack) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for the comment Heath. I hate the tripod shadow too. I even tried to photoshop it out, but my results just looked bad, so I left it.

When I took the shot, I never even thought about a shadow, since it was pitch dark. A four minute exposure not only brings out all the light, but all the shadows from that light too.

This is interesting, Paul. The shapes of the shadows, the textures of the different woods... that said, I think that the intensity of the color takes away from the image. A bit less saturation would, IMHO, would really support the shapes and textures, light and shadows.

adisdjapo (Adis Djapo) added a critique 1 year ago:

oh. i love this. maybe martin has a point but i like the bright color.

oneye (Rodion Kovenkin) added a critique 1 year ago:

Seems oversaturated... the shadows feels like burnt...

Eyeseethings added a critique 1 year ago:

Strange but I like the pver saturated colours . Nice shot this

manickavelu (velu) added a critique 1 year ago:

i like the composition. but i also feel that the shadows are too dark and flat.

Seeing the small version I asked myself, what this should do here, on Green, but now I know and I have to say, this image is great and I would for sure vote for it.

The reflection is nice, but the picture could be more crispy.

Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) added a critique 1 year ago:

well done-nice reflection-i agree with the need for sharpening!

dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:

Seems a little soft. Is it in focus? I don't know the relfection is defined enough to fit in the topic.

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) added a critique 1 year ago:

I see the focus is on the window/reflection.
adjusting the contrast and levels would bring the refletion and the focus more visible.

adisdjapo (Adis Djapo) said 1 year ago:

Thanks everyone for the comments. I'll try to make the corrections suggested and will post the result.

Nice shot, it's clearly that it was taken behind a glass, some kind of papparazzi, really nice job !

SusanJones (Susan Jones) said 1 year ago:

Fantastic emo this shot evokes.
Great pic!
woot!

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:

yes, it was taken during a night walk thru san diego. this was a restaurant where all the guests watched football and beeing served by these "bunnies" you see in the picture :-))

thanks for your feedback and feature :-)

cheers,
v.t.

awesome picture-i think it would be better if the cord was not in the picture-but that is just my opinion.

doilyboy (Martin Grey Gottlieb) added a critique 1 year ago:

I agree with Paul. Rally like the image... the DOF, colors, textures, etc, but the cord detracts from the control knobs.

duncmc (Duncan McMillan) added a critique 1 year ago:

I can't fault this picture. Personally I like the cord, it makes the shot more interesting. Without the cord the image would make a very nice brochure shot for a mixing desk manufacturer, but as an image in its own right I believe the absence of the cord would leave it a little bland.

oneye (Rodion Kovenkin) added a critique 1 year ago:

First of all i think that the shot is not sharp enough. As for cord - I dont like the position of it. It makes chaos, it distracts me. Instead of cord i want see here the "jack" with the yellow stripe like those on the up of the image.

dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:

Seems very crowded. Too much stuff here.
