Thanks, Uncommondepth. Heaven, you ask? Well, outside the window is San Francisco...took this on a trip there last summer. Actually, you can just barely see the bottoms of the towels, but your point is well taken, because I did a pretty heave edge burn to this photo, and I think I over-did it, because they do look like they are cut off.
Thanks for the thoughts!

I just love this shot - I've been clicking it whenever it shows up. The tonality - framing - dang - everything about it - I'm so pleased that it has made the page!

good shot - if there was a view outside, it may have been distracting

Thanks guys.
@ArneG, I was hoping someone might find this odd enough to be tickled by it.
@elijah, yeah, I intentionally let the outside get completely blown out to create that feel. Thanks for your thoughts.

This is truly lovely. See you on the front page soon...

Excellent, fits the theme perfectly. The yellow window adds a splash of colour to an otherwise muted palette.

Beautiful light.

lovely use of light and assymetry

This really works, I love the negative space that balances the geometry.

Just on a "literally sticking to the theme" note, perhaps if you only showed one lens and thus presented "glass" instead of "glasses." You might also try turning the glasses upside down to add a little drama. However, technically I don't have any problem with this shot.

I would agree with jcharles on a more extreme angle and definately the idea of one lens vs two. However interesting shot.

Interesting shot. The cut off handles of glasses a little confuse.
Sorry for my english.
Jem (Jem Lambert) added a critique 1 year ago:
Nice contrasting textures within the shot - and its an unusual and appealing composition, but like jcharles said I agree it lacks a little 'oomph' that could maybe be accomplished with some tweaking.
THISMUG (Jeremy Yontz) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like it - I think it is a very simple attractive shot. I really like the detail in the material the glasses are sitting on, I think it has nice DOF. I think there is just enough of the right side of the glasses cropped to tell what they are but IMO not too much like mentioned above. I also think the framing works well

great photo! I like the dynamic, because of the long exposure and composition.

I like the detail, very crisp!
blikveld (Jasper Hoek) said 1 year ago:
It does look a little 'hot' (from sunlight) on the right, but it looks different on different screens. Thanks for the tip :)
I think the 'crisp' comes from a little 'over-sharpening'

nice photo.

The composition and the wood detail are really great and I really like the b&w here. I believe that the image is more about the wood of the window rather than the glass though.

Great composition and use of B&W. I am enjoying the sharpness and detail as well.

What's out that window? Heaven? (Just joking around.) I like the simplicity of this shot. My only complaint is the bottoms of the towels are partially cut off. But otherwise, well done.
