If you could get the man to sit on the other side of the chairs it would help some. The diagonal angle of that beam going across adds lots of drama. Because of that I wouldn't change your camera angle, but if you could reposition the man, the image would balance better.

a good shot. i like the lines and silhouetting. maybe if you had moved left more to get the doors out of frame...

notter71 (Tom Notter) added a critique 1 year ago:

nice photo! i think this might look better if it were shifted more to the left.

Alick (Alexander Kopylov) added a critique 1 year ago:

notter71, and loose the door on the right? I don't think that it's good idea.
Sorry for my english

owenhaberf (Owen Haberfield) added a critique 1 year ago:

Great picture! I'm not sure I'd change anything here. Although on close inspection I might have tried a shift to the left also, to try and get some of the verticals vertical and maybe create a symmetry with the seating.

That is a very strange image. Fits the theme well.

great light

And just what kind of concoctions do we have here? This is a really neat image. I love the light, and it has such a vintage feel to it. No doubt because of that photo on the jar, and the writing on the card.

Yes indeed. I love this one.

Glad this was selected for a feature, everytime it came up in the ratings I thought "this epitomizes the theme". Well done and congrats.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Well, thank you so much for your comment. I didn't know it had been featured!

claudeschneider (Claude Schneider) said 1 year ago:

A wonderful combination of textures and patterns, as well as some mesmerising warping. Well captured.

eliz (elizabeth weinberg) said 1 year ago:

I like the color of the background. It works well with the pink hues in the other parts of the picture.

Very interesting image - I love how part of it looks like it was mirrored and then you realize that it is not so. BW HDR I think - very effective.

Where did you find all these beautiful bottles? Terrific shot even if the thing they stand on is slightly distracting.

this shot is quite a cliche,
the plant gets in the way i think,
maybe a tighter crop would work,
just my 2cents,
nice to see fellow shutterchancers around...!

psychodudu (Andrew Parker) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for your comments shivahuja, I'd be interested to hear where you've seen a similar shot, because I'd love to compare. I agree it is a buzz to se our little gang getting out into the big wide world, and playing with the big boys and girls!
