I will be glad of this photo! true joy for me! like everything. :) A little fun with the bird in the picture, though I think it would have been better without it?

As people requested - the image in colour. I like it in BW much better, but I think its a good image in color too. I shot this on Bronica - and it reminds me why I love medium format for things that don't move.
So take a look at the BW and tell me which you think is better - and more importantly, why it one is better.

Definately the color! All I can say is Wow!!
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 1 year ago:
This IS lovely. I think I do prefer the color version better.
BUT, I am curious why the colors are so different in the refection that in the real object. Especially noticeable in the mountain on the right of frame, reflection is quite a bit greener that the real mountain. The mountain on the left is the opposite, the real mountain has a lot of color but the reflected mountain seems desaturated???

Wow!like the sharpness and the incredibly beautiful mountains, neatly captured.

Another nice tonal range in this one. Good skin texture also. Perhaps if you turned the body a bit more towards the camera you could have picked up a bit more depth from the curves of the back and the buttocks. I still would've cropped from the top again, but that is subjective at best. I like how the highlights gradually dissolve to black. I think a few white reflectors could enhance the drop off more. Keep up the good work.

I too think the composition is a bit too tall at the top. I also wish the image was a bit sharper overall. I agree with Smooch, nice tonal range.

very nicely done. i love the contour, teh lighting. agree with beamer on the sharpness, though.

Nice tonal values. Interesting composition. Cropping much more from the top would help strengthen the bodyscape feel of this image IMO. I'm just wondering, if you shopped out the navel, if it would help the bodyscape or abstract feel to this image. Love the texture also.

I agree with Smooch with regard to cropping the upper part of the image. For me this image somehow surpasses the boundaries of a human body shape. And this is what I like most.

Thanks for your comments, I hadn't thought about cropping it in a bit at the top so I might try that and see if I like the result better, it is really good to get peoples honest opinions about your work because sometimes something gets pointed out to you that you would just not of seen
Thanks again for taking the time to look at my work

Crop, me too. This one has a nicer feel overall, a little more detail, so I guess a little sharper. Next time try to get the model to not wear tight clothing before the shoot, the marks on the hip are a bit disappointing in the lower right.

It is just too artificial for my taste and too noisy image.
sfkp (Tamara) said 28 days ago:
I think it's not really noisy, but it has a really really shallow DOF. A bit to shallow imo, looks like the eye lashes are blurry by movement - likes the subject was just winking, wich isn't possible becouse of course it's a doll. On the other hand, that last thought makes the pic also interesting: the suggestion of a winking doll.
I can't really decide wether I like it or not.

I feel that the picture has too many elements, loosing somehow the ability of underlining something in particular. I really do not like the right part of the photo, that black corner and also if you look at the upper side margin you will notice that the position was not right and this is somehow disturbing.

A whole another look too the topic architecture: usually their are about details of a building or a panoramic view where you can see the building in all its greatness.
However the picture shows hardly any details, it's very recognizable. Well done! Only thing what's bothering me a bit (just a bit nitpicking) are the two poles left from the tree.
Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) added a critique 1 month ago:
Great how you placed the sun directly behind the main structure. The picture looks like a fractal - great effect.
I agree with Tamara that the two poles are in the way, but what could you do? Take a large axe along on your next photo shoot?

In my view too much empty areas and silhoette makes this worse. Not a shot write home about!

Het is een ruizige foto, en dat is zonde. Om heel eerlijk te zijn ben ik ook niet echt weg van de compositie. Een gebouw als deze biedt wel veel mogelijkheden, blijf hiermee experimenteren.
Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) said 1 month ago:

Groetjes!

Cool the way the building looks like it's part of the ship.
Love the clouds in the background! Great portraits! beautiful model, beautiful black and white photo
