I like this a lot, well, not really, it is after all eggplant!! My critique is the composition, you are VERY close to perfect in my eye. I would have moved the camera up about an inch to show a bit of negative space just above the stalk at the top and bit less of the bottom. The bit of stalk just cutoff is disappointing in an otherwise brilliant shot, imo.

I have to second what Beamer writes. My eyes really, really, really wants to see the top of the stalk, and a bit of negative space around it. Otherwise a very impressive shot. Excellent drops, very nice colors induced with the stalk and its texture that is more coarse and organic compared to the slick surface of the eggplant itself.

Storywise there is really nothing to it, but as a sort of "design" shot or a shot where the style and shapes and colors are important it is allmost perfect, except for the missing top part :)

Great job. I´d like to see more the vegetable, but in the other hand is different, so good joob. Sometimes this kind of photos are always the same. Great!!!

I like it the way it is. To me it just seems there would be too much negative space if it went any higher. Well, I suppose it could be just a little bit higher so that maybe the top frame stopped at the top or barely above the top of the stalk. Love the shadows and blacks. Came out very nice.
