That top right corner is the only thing that I can really see wrong with this picture. My eyes almost immediately move to it, although the sprinkles look good!!
I'm not quite sure what I would've done with the background; the pink tone gives a warmness to the picture (and definitely brings out the yummy looking frosting) but I would think there is a better background you could use... White would be too bright and wouldn't put the emphasis on the frosting anymore... maybe black, but then it would look like a bit of a flat picture... Tough one, I think you pulled it off well.
All the same, it looks very delicious!! :D

I agree that the top right corner is a bit distracting, but it's nothing too serious. I love the colors and composition. Great shot!

first of all... what a yummy shot. have you tried shooting the photo on a plate with a different color? maybe a soft shade of blue? maybe it would make the cupcake stand out some more.

I agree about the top corner but other than that it's a great pic. It looks so good i just want to reach up and grab it off that plate! mmmmm!

Good capture! I love the changing shades from the apples: light colored yellow-ish on the foreground to red and darker on the background.

Thank you, Tamara!

Very nice colors and lighting - a pleasing, though somewhat static composition, I think. Overall, a good job with the subject.
Best,

I like this. Very rustic. I'm not faving it though because I do wonder if more could be made of this. I don't know maybe a slightly less of a crop and a shallower depth of field?

I would have cropped a little more off the top to loose the edge of the pot just showing in the upper right. This is a bit distracting.

I like it best for Food. Looks good enough to eat.

Doesn't sounds really enthusiasti, am I right? Well, fair enough, if you ask an opinion, the answer can not be always like you want :)
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 month ago:
Yep, sorry the food looks better than the photo. The hand looks weird, especially on the left of frame. There is very little in the image that is in sharp focus, maybe the very front edge of the plate. Not your best work...

I couldn't really get into this shot, Tamara (and I love food). The blur doesn't seem to be doing very much for the composition and the framing of the main subject could either be tighter or a little less centred. Sorry.

the white balance is off and the image is too blurred

Tipical Dutch raw salt herring with onions. Funny detail: the owner of the hand is a German relative of ours.

Grilled pineapple?? The top of the center piece is a bit blown out. Nice abstract image too.
boyd added a critique 2 months ago:
I am not so sure that the top and bottom of the image add much to the overall composition. This seems at though it might be well suited to a square crop to accentuate the abstract nature. I like the idea that you have used here.

It certainly looks yummy. Was it?
I'd try and get that top/right corner fixed up so only the plate fills the space. Also, I'd probably leave a bit more room behind the cupcake, to the left, but otherwise it's good.
