What an unusual setting and portrait. Was he trying to spell P-E-T-S for the other topic? :D
Nice shot - love the tone and clarity as well as the contrast.

Just the printing keys would have been great for this category. The snake just pushes this over the top. Excellent mood to this through the toning.

very exotic!
congrats on the feature stephen :-)
agrimace said 1 year ago:
Nice letter and snake of course. What type of snake?
sblackstone (Stephen Blackstone) said 1 year ago:
Thanks Vernon and agrimace. It is a leaf-nosed snake.

Suits the topic to a "T," Andrew, and nails some of what I had in mind in suggesting it.
It looks like the topic's a bit slow to catch on...and unfortunately, I am rationing my time on the computer due to extenuating circumstances, so I can't even submit to my own topic right now.

Thanks Leigh-Anne! I think people are resting on their laurels a little and expecting to find archive images all the time which fit the themes, and if they don't find anything they can't be bothered going out and shooting new stuff. I find that disappointing, and not untypical of alot of so-called "dedicated" photographers. It's a shame because I think it's a great topic.

This is wonderful. I really like the progression from light to dark blue and there's that K.

Ha, well done again Tracy. I just rated this over at WS. Perfect for both themes. Hope you get a double feature.
TracyMartin (Tracy Martin) said 1 year ago:
Thanks Peter. Here is the comment I lift at WS
This was a coffee table that I came across while visiting my sister where she worked as the manager of a Montauk furniture shop in Montreal. All the pieces were loose in the frame so you could re-arrange them if you really wanted to, Kyla told me that she sold it to a woman for $9000 and it was to be a gift to her husband who was a printer.

This is not only a striking image, but the subject matter is very interesting. Well done T.
Lamdennison (Leigh-Anne Dennison) said 1 year ago:
This is fabulous, Tracy. I'd never guess it was a table from the angle you shot it.
I don't think I'd pay (or ever could afford to pay) $9,000 for the table, but I'd steal the idea and DIY-it! :P

Philippe, this is awesome! You went above and beyond ABCs. I like the reflection of the letters. I little more and you would've had the full B reflected as well.
philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:
Thanks, Leigh-Anne. Believe it or not, I had not noticed the reflections until you told me. If I did, I would have properly framed the B (and perhaps the A). A lucky subconcious catch...
:o)

This is wonderful! Clever and interesting composition. Impressive DOF shooting here with the A-H-A in clearer focus than either the fore or background.

I don't know how you did it, but result is amazing.
Lamdennison (Leigh-Anne Dennison) said 1 year ago:
I would guess this is a slow exposure with something like a small flash light (torch for the non-U.S. crowd) or maybe sparklers? Very nice job forming the letters and framing them.
I bought sparklers specifically to practice this kind of technique, but have yet to try it out.

Thank you Lamdennison. :-) I just spent most of my morning on that photo! The surface is shiny and was hard to take without any glare. Finally I made myself a little dark room cave and this was the result. I boost the exposure and saturation a tad and burned the red and green buttons as they were too bright. That's it.
Lesson I learned from taking this photo....get it right in the camera, it saves loads of processing time later!

Awesome find. Love the big of green in the background to set off the color.
