I agree about the saturation being a bit too high. Another suggestion would be capturing either 1/3rd of the sky or the grass setting the other element take 2/3rd. Excellent image nonetheless!

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 4 months ago:

high contrast, high saturated !!! just the one that i like !!

360Pixels (Ayash Basu) added a critique 4 months ago:

Eye catching image for sure. I might have preferred a)less saturation on the colors and b)a non-square "landscape" view.

GarrettHall (Garrett Hall) added a critique 4 months ago:

I would crop 10% off of the top. The 10% has interesting clouds, but I think it would look better without it. Did you get any longer exposures showing the wheat moving?

Nice work on this one.

wery nice work.
At least, i think it could be better by dopping colors a bit, a cropping (half picture?) on the flower and the bee.

Fantástica

GarrettHall (Garrett Hall) added a critique 4 months ago:

Really interesting photo. As far as criticism goes, I would try to make the flower stick out a little more. My eye wants to go to the bud rather than the flower/bee. Also, the flower petals don't have much depth.

Thank you to both of you....the bird is a Night Heron

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) added a critique 5 months ago:

Nice bird... but the whole photo I don't like. Sorry!

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 5 months ago:

Very nice focus on this bird!
I really like the bird. I keep seeing the great blue herons in flight around here but have yet to be able to capture one yet.
Great job.
I agree with the debris removal on the right!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 5 months ago:

The problems with this image are 2, imo:
The composition is a bit too wide, crop off about 1/4 of the right and loose the dark bit at the edge and the bright spot in the water right along the eyeline
The tonal range is just a bit too flat, especially on the water, juice it up just a little.

GarrettHall (Garrett Hall) added a critique 4 months ago:

I'd like to see this photo a bit wider: crop off the top so that the space above the birds head is about equal to the bird's head itself.

Nice image, well exposed and controlled. For me, not a lot of interest/impact. I might have like it better without the girl's legs, but I'm sure it's more meaningful for you with them.

Love the Wellies!!!!! Great photo!!!!!

sfkp (Tamara) said 5 months ago:

Beamer, you're right, I do like this one for that very reason. It makes it kind a funny... it looks like the picture is taken just before a big step over the ditch.
See for another one - without boots - wich I made by chance, too:
www.vazaar.com/topic:low-down/photos/id:29923/

If your're interested: this one is made in a grass-land where we played 'farmer's golf': just hidding a small foot(socker)ball with a stick, right between cow's giant poo. :P Very... erhmm... nature.

GarrettHall (Garrett Hall) added a critique 4 months ago:

Rather than see the photo without the legs, I'd have liked to see the camera turned a few degrees to the right, so that the water is off-center and the legs are brought fully into the frame.

This is an epic shot. I might prefer more contrast or maybe just a little darker.

Nice work. A suggestion - I would present it in the reverse view (upside down) because I think it would give more power to the yellow spikes but Nice Shot.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 5 months ago:

The background is fine, the problem, imo, is the composition. You could easily crop this to a square and it would focus so much more attention on you main subject. There is way too much showing on the right of frame. If you crop out the whole right 1/4 or so it would be better.

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 5 months ago:

I agree with Clyde. You could crop from the right, cutting the big blurry flower of the image. Perhaps would some cloning, to get rid of at least two of the most giant flowers on the background, on the left also make a less crowded impression.

A thing I like about the photo is the soft pink colour of the flowers with the purple background on top of the photo.

camiels (Camiel Schoonens) said 5 months ago:

Thanks for the constructive feedback! Never thought of cropping it into a square. Will do so in the near future.

treehuggerish added a critique 5 months ago:

It actually took a while before I discovered the bee. It is in its essence a very nice photo of a bee and a flower. Actually one of the better ones I've seen. What really hurts this image is, as others have noted, the cropping. Both the foreground and background makes it very hard to focus on the subject, so yeah! crop it and let us see it again... I'll bet it'll be a very nice photo then. I'd suggest a somewhat tight crop, try to get as much blue/green background and as little of the other flowers as possible.

AnaGaztelu (Ana Gaztelu) added a critique 5 months ago:

Estando de acuerdo con lo expuesto, ayudaría si el insecto se mostrara de cara, pero es tan difícil, a veces, conseguirlo.....

Neat shot Mikhail. Looks like you timed it right to get the steam (or maybe fog) rising off of the meadow. Pretty image. Is that your house :-)
