Wow. Spectacular shot, and thanks all for the great tutorial. I have yet to play with HDR, but this prompts me further to go explore it.

ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) said 4 months ago:

Thanks Craig! If you get stuck feel free to e-mail any questions my way. Lots of good links out there on how to do this properly.

dominik (Dominik Fusina) said 4 months ago:

Very pretty but a little too dark for me

HuubL said 3 months ago:

Beautiful seascape/sunset shot. HDR seems very popular lately and therefore, for me it quickly looses its appeal. However, landscapes like this really gain from a modest use of the technique.

Nice picture but maybe two small things that could improve the picture :
Trying to have a greater depth of field... if possible
And maybe the boat a little less in the corner, but just a little!
But the colors are really pretty and the composition is great too

Pixim (Eric) said 20 days ago:

Thanks Paul for your comment, the Depth of field is a choice, but for the placement of the boat I think you have right, reason ... ;)

Great find! The tree is a bit blown out... I love the tire tracks...I love how you can feel the back opening...

sfkp (Tamara) said 14 days ago:

Thank you for your comment. You're right, the tree is blown out (the pilars on the left are blown out, too). I tryed to make them darker, but the effect was very unnatural. So I left it as it is.

boyd added a critique 13 days ago:

I like the texture that you have captured with the back of the truck. Can't help but think that the whole composition could be a little tighter - perhaps a crop of the plain dirt at the bottom might balance it a little better and take the truck a little more off centre (but what would I know???).

luan (Luan Huynh) added a critique 13 days ago:

I agree with boyd's comment. I think you should sharpen the truck a bit too...

Lamdennison (Leigh-Anne Dennison) added a critique 30 days ago:

The only possible thing I might suggest is adjusting it so the bars are straight. The square piece of metal in the lower right might be a tad distracting if you wanted to crop in just a little tighter, if you wanted.

You've done a great job capturing the bird -- terrific eye contact and clarity -- to convey its imprisonment. I think its marvelously shot myself...

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 30 days ago:

Looks like a trip to the fair?? I was thinking of going to the LA County fair tonight in Pomona, CA. I agree about the straightening. Nice one.

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 28 days ago:

The eyes looks human. Scary. I won't eat chicken for the rest of the week.
I agree with Leigh-Anne, rotate the image a bit and crop a bit on the left (a bit of cloning would also help it) and then you have a perfect capture.

mrsmorunion (Tammy Runion) added a critique 27 days ago:

This is such a hard shot to capture, I've tried it a hundred times, but you nailed it! Nice job.

MPar (Marc-André Paradis) added a critique 22 days ago:

From my point of view, I think that a little Photoshop touch-up to add a little light in the eye would be welcome.

cute picture, with lots of energy...captures the attitude of kids very well...greatjob!

Neuner added a critique 4 months ago:

I think this could have been exceptional if the shot was dropped down some so there isn't as much white space up above, you didn't have the shadows behind them and it was exposed so that the white space was close to being blown out. I really like the expressions and the boy on the right moved forward from the others and out front.

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 4 months ago:

I like the composition but maybe with more continuos shoting you could have got even more interesting faces expressions.

james_littlefox added a critique 2 months ago:

agree with BepperRdam, consecutive capture could result in even better face expressions.

snaps (Dana N) added a critique 30 days ago:

This shot makes me smile. Agree about the white spaces, but it's a fun image. Well done.
