Hi,
I agree with Jeff. I am wondering if this is a post-process soft focus effect. I would prefer to see the mouth in focus, but this is just my sense of a more traditional portrait photography - beyond this, it's hard to beat a beautiful mouth for adding interest to a photo.
Best,
Jon

Estoy de acuerdo con Jeff y Jon básicamente. Me parece muy interesante el efecto conseguido, en parte gracias al angulo empleado, por el cual el espectador queda atrapado en los ojos, que no ve, de la chica, como queriendo ver más. Enhorabuena. Saludos

For the soft focus effect, no post processing effect...I try not to do any post processing, I don't really like that and I m not good at that.
The effet is made with a 50mm wide open (1.4)
For the mouth in focus, it would mean that the nose is also in focus, and finaly all the face... and even if this photo could be great it would be, I think, a very different one... maybe I should try!

Nice look and feel to this one. I might have boosted the tonal range a bit, but not much. Overall really nice.

I think the shallow depth of field on this particular photograph highlights the freckles and red hair in a beautiful way. Being blurry, the green shirt also really helps to set that off. I find myself wishing the depth of field wasn't quite so shallow, but that's just me.
