Dylan,
Looks like one of your first shots into the sun. Captures some soft tones in the dusk sky. You have a nice scatter of lens flare. Those small circles of light are caused by the strong back light (the sun) reflecting off the interior elements of the lens (lens flare). Lens flare is not always a bad thing, and can even be an interesting element when you control it. Take more pictures, you have the interest.

Iran EcoTour - Chaloos - Tunnel No.6

On 10 August 2007, I took my mother and her friend on EcoTour’s one day trekking trip to Kondelus Village. Unfortunately the company hired a mini-bus driver who was not familiar with the road to Chaloos that has a series of dangerous winding sections and tunnels. As a result, the bus driver hit the wall of Tunnel No 6. As a result of the resulting huge impact, my mother fell over and was badly injured, she suffered shock of accident and injuries to her foot.

I had the same thought in regards to that dark tree - hate messing about with nature sometimes:-)

Best,
Jon

This is a great picture! I don't mind the dark tree so much. Nature is imperfect and beautiful at the same time.

I enjoy this image a lot. I like the warmth of he colors and the sharp contrast of the snow.

narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 10 months ago:

I love the contrast of the white snow and the yellow leafes...beautiful shot...I agree with the comments above...the scene seems very realistic...some each one of us could experience...great job!

Awesome grain Clyde, personally I'm a big fan of it :)
I agree about the tones, might help bring out some details, fantastic find!!!

diamondnet (Dénes Szabó) added a critique 1 year ago:

The BW conversion was not so succesful..there are too many grey on the photo.
I mostly prefer BW-photos, but in this case, i would like to see this in colorful version.

lightholder (Kimberly Lightholder) added a critique 1 year ago:

Beamer! Love the composition! I agree it could maybe benefit from a different B/W conversion to push the tones a bit, it seems there's a lot of detail in the shale that isn't getting enough love... :)

...and that does look dangerous!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 1 year ago:

Yeah, this was on the way back down from San Antonio Falls. Handheld @1000 ISO and still under exposed. I was actually trying to pull out the detail in the shale without blowing out the fog, guess that's how it got so flat. I also struggle with the white background here. The other 2 places I post images, my blog and onexposure.net both have dark/black surrounds. I sometimes end up doing 2 different color corrections.

Le champion du HDR a encore frappé ce matin... ;-) Impressive as usual, I like it very much.

pete (Pete) said 11 months ago:

very dramatic shot! for it to be more relevant though, i would say more emphasis is needed on the road, and less on the sky

crahan (Thomas Bouve) said 11 months ago:

That's probably one of the most dramatic skies I've ever seen. Nice touch on the SOS sign too.
