wonderful picture of the road, almost like a satelite picture. where is it by the way?

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Los Angeles!

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) said 1 year ago:

Can you imagine how many wrong turns tourists make when confronted by this array of roads? It makes an interesting photo, though.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Actually, the indications are clear and it's not so difficult in the end. It can become a problem, though, if you miss an exit, especially in heavy traffic...

:o)

Une bien étrange fourmilière à vrai dire..!
Here the theme should be "crazy roads"...
Heureusement, il y a de plus belles routes aux Etats-Unis :))

I've always wanted to take a picture inside a tunnel- well done!

CyberCarsten (Carsten) added a critique 1 year ago:

Pictures of tunnles always have the potential to be special (and the wet tunnel especially). You missed that chance by choosing a too short shutter speed to make use of the motion blur, imho.

If this documentary shot you posted here was what were after - so be it. But if could have been a much more appealing shot with some motion blur.

kseniaC (ksenia) added a critique 1 year ago:

I really like this picture, but i agree with boyd that the exposure is a bit too much. But the reflection on the sides of the tunnel is great and I love the composition and all in all its a great pic!

antonio (antonio) added a critique 1 year ago:

i like it but it may be a bit too much light at the end of the tunel if you know what a mean!!. maybe if the tunnel would have been long enough i would have taken the picture as soon i enter, so the dark part would appear longer. but it is a nice one!

Gecko (Can Cellek) added a critique 11 months ago:

I've always wanted to put a tripod into a tunnel and have lots of shots.. I know it is hard, but if you have a chance, try to shot with different exposures and blend it in Photoshop or special programs to blend it (This technique is called HDR). With this technique, you'll have the right exposure in every part of the picture..
Good luck!

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:

I have an interesting reaction to this photo and wonder if others have a similar response. Although the bike and rider seem to be the object of the photo since they are so prominent and the background is blurred a bit, given the strong S curve of the road, my eye keeps wandering away from the bike and down that wonderful curve. One could argue that such a response goes well with the photo because the man's line of sight seems to be heading in the same direction. However, it is a bit unnerving to have your line of vision constantly fleeing to the background and out of the frame. The focal point of the whole picture for me is the off-colored barrier along the blurred stretch of road just before the road bends out of the photo. I doubt that is your intention.

gazdi (Csaba Bobák) added a critique 1 year ago:

Following the course of Jeff's critique: exactly this leading of the views' eyes is what makes this photo a road shot instead of a bike-and-rider shot, for me at least. This is why I feel it very much on-topic. And being able to express the theme with something that is born in the view's mind (instead of something that is directly included in the frame) is a great talent.

alira (Arkaitz Lira) added a critique 1 year ago:

I love it, all the elements are perfectly ubicated. I would like to see a B/W version too.

In my opinion i would use a little more depth of field to integrate the background with the rider and the bike because the curve seems to be a little blurry at the end.

Anyway, i like it a lot.

blaze883r (Fernando Bordallo) said 1 year ago:

Jeff, in fact, that was exactly my intention, and as gazdi says, that's why I put this pic on this topic.

I'm very glad you like it, and thank you very much for your comments.

Alira, if you want I would try to make a B/W versión, but I think it won't work as good, because the lightning isn't interesting enough and the poor contrast. If anybody is interested on it, just send me a messagge, and I will work on it!

Thanks you all.
