I guess that glare softens the image on that side quite a bit. I like how the camera is dark but your face is low contrast, but the glare (and softening it causes) is a downer. Ideally you would be low contrast but sharp (as on the right side of your head). The tree doesn't add anything for me, and it's too bad the tree is so dark because it competes for attention. Maybe dodging the tree would help that.

I find the bright spot on the lower left of the photo a bit distracting but the composition in my opinion is very nice. Good work!
