Not sure I understand this shot. I think it is a flag, but I think it needs a hint of more red, and maybe a little more of the flag in the shadows. Nice try!

Interesting approach to be sure, but not exactly sure what you were trying to convey - what is the message here? The colors give a very strange effect to a familiar theme. Curious shot!
Best,
Jon

I like the B&W better too.

Beutiful.

I liked both, but as said before, the lack of focus on the Tattoo hurts the concept.
koo88 added a critique 1 year ago:
Great b&w shot. Tattoos are the bodies art and can be captured in so many great photographs.

Very effective treatment of this subject. Interesting stuff!

Very nice execution. Like it b/w.
I would clone out the blck dots on the upper petel.

I really wish the tip of the pedal wasn't so blown out, maybe burn it back in PS a little. Nice DoF, I like the imperfection on the pedals, makes it look more real.
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) said 1 year ago:
I see what your talking about with the blown out portion...never noticed that before. This is an OLD OLD photo of mine...from when I first started shooting. It's from my Canon EOS Elan 7e, so it's film. I'm not exactly sure how to do the proper editing in PS without getting the super grain film gives me when it's scanned in.

j'aime beaucoup la partie grise mais le blanc est vraiment trop brulé

I like your use of space, but it's a little overexposed, I think. Nice composition!

I like the simplicity of the silhouette and the sparkle of the background.

l'image manque un peu de précision à mon gout même si les couleurs sont magnifiques

Beamer - This is still just basic cleaning for me. On this one more than the other, this is the natural color. It was right after a tornado and the sun was setting. THe light was bouncing everywhere in those clouds. Once I adjusted the levels, this is what came out!
Thanks for the comments!
Lasiate - Merci beaucoup. Je souhaite que je pourrais prendre une image plus claire parfois me ! J'ai juste à garder essayer ! !

I love the colours. It looks otherworldly, quite directly as it looks like a shot of Jupiter. Only thing that bugs me is some of the gray in the clouds on the bottom. Kinda makes it feel weighted down.

I've been thinking about this picture for awhile now. I like the DOF. I even like the gloomy tonal quality. There are all of these lines leading me through the picture, which in theory is a good thing, but they are leading me to this fuzzy fence. The problem I'm having I guess is that I never really focus on the bench (the subject)Perhaps a different angle .. maybe lower or take a step to the left or right would help this image?
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) said 11 months ago:
I definately see what you're talking about. There is something about this image I can't put my finger on myself. That's why I posted it. It just feels incomplete to me. I don't know what it is!! Very frustrating!! LoL :)
Thanks for the advice. I did crop this image so I can try to bring the benches into view more. I do like the lonely little leaf by itself.... but that's about it...I know I'm still missing something with this...
Jessa added a critique 11 months ago:
I hadn't noticed the lone leaf until you mentioned it. I like it too. Maybe if crop to the right of that leaf taking out the bridge and the majority of the water you can bring focus back into the image.
just a thought

portrait, makes me think about the person.
minor: background picture distractive !
minor: think you can improve on the light setup next time, even a piece of paper can do wonders sometimes to get in a bit of light.

The photo itself is perfect. This guy looks like he wants to kill me (Soprano style). Very visually stimulating.

I agree with Matt, but would like to add that it seems a little underexposed. I'd also crop it tighter and get rid of most (or all) of the sky.
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 11 months ago:
The rich fall colors are very pretty. As mentioned there could be a little more DOF.

I have nothing to say about this except it's a great shot. I don't mind the contrast. I think it gives it an antique feel. Good work!

Very nice ! A beautiful mood indeed, which perfectly fits the music subject.
CouCou33 (Ingrid) added a critique 11 months ago:
nice one !
fits really well the subject :)
and as it's been said earlier, the grainy texture works really well here. And i also like the heavy contrast.

A little update, another version of this image was my first sale in stock photography! (Hooray!) Not only that, but a day later, the same image had a second sale! Yay!!!
I like the colors and the composition and the movement that the shot inspire.
The only two things I miss is a little more sharp in the up and the bottom and the entire imagen of the object (subject) in the up side.
