great one vernon.

what's the exif on this? also, what lens did you use?

the dof seems staggering, though maybe it's not really all that deep. straight out of camera? or is it two images overlaid?

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 8 months ago:

yes george, all from the cam.
here's a screenshot from the raw file (includes the exif as well)
lens is a tamron 17-50/2.8

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 6 months ago:

hey misu,

thanks for stopping by :) the end of the hand should be dark because she is "touching the shadow" :-)

cheers

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 6 months ago:

Yes, I understand the idea ;) But on my monitor I not see the hand, it is too dark... but may be it is only on my monitor ;)

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 6 months ago:

guess your monitor is too dark. :)

mikeock (Mike Adams) said 6 months ago:

taken early today at zürich airport :)

@Beamer
thanks :)

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 7 months ago:

Hey, Vernon, have you ever, or would you be willing to do a tutorial on this color treatment? I see you use it a lot and have always been curious how you get it so nice.

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 7 months ago:

@Beamer
this kind of toning takes some time (0,5-2 hrs) and depends of the "content".
this shot has a triple toning in split-mode,
mostly done by using 3 tone layers for each shade of grey available in the shot.
so if you have 15 grey values, you have 45 layers just for toning. the adjustment takes the longest time.

:-)

Thank you very much for looking and for your comment, Tracy. :)

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 7 months ago:

good!

sometimes, for such shots, it would be cool to tall like a cyclop :-)))

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 7 months ago:

aargh...

to be tall like a cyclop...

sorry :)

MMeye (Martine) said 7 months ago:

lol
Thank you very much for your input, Vernon, I agree with your point. Unfortunately I feel much closer to Bilbo the hobbit than to a cyclop :))

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) said 7 months ago:

Apart from the repetition and the asymmetric compo, I so much like your b&w post-processing, MMeye !!!!! Very well done.
