I like this a lot and agree with bslomovic that it might be under appreciated. I love the angle at which it was takes and the resulting DOF of the screen.

Too much blur and not a great composition - this photo says nothing to me.
Best,

For a reflection theme, I'm not sure you can top the subtlety here. I didn't see it until I looked up to read the theme and then went in search of a reflection. Nice work.
THISMUG (Jeremy Yontz) added a critique 1 year ago:
Very subtle and soft...nice image
SeekingFocus (Jason Langley) added a critique 1 year ago:
I didn't notice the reflection here at first glance. It makes one dig a bit deeper than just a quick look.

One thing is that I cant see any sharp place in this image. That is why I feel not to well with this photo.
VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:
@geos
look under the small finger (left hand) the black key. that's the point I focused on.
VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:
right hand, sorry :)
TracyMartin (Tracy Martin) said 1 year ago:
You skipped a couple days there my friend... :-)
RonnieSpraggs said 9 months ago:
It's a wide aperture/limited depth of field classic.
The tonality of the ivory in the sharp (in photographic terms - not musical)key under the right hand forefinger is simply gorgeous.
Just look at the way the highlight on the top of that hand crisply folds over into the shadowed area of the side - it's as rich as Belgian Chocolate, and a superlative study.
A little monochrome masterpiece.

Great image. I like the way you've managed to keep the body mostly sharp and the arms so blured.

VT - That is the exact look I was going for - "crossed-lomoholganized-artsy-fartsy-something". Couldn't have described it better :)

looks like an old photograph with a lot of history ... normally i don't like heavy editing or added layers, but this is an interesting shot! nice work!
grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 1 year ago:
I don't normally go for this sort of thing, but this really works for me. I think it comes down to a couple things:
1. The photo has more interesting details than before.
2. As Lindy said, it fits the subject (LA).
