Nice capture Jeff, I wonder if you cropped this to pano, or shot it this way. I ask, because the building and the rainbow being cutoff as they are feels restricted or awkward to me.
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) said 2 months ago:
@ Beamer: A little of both. There was a lanai floor directly above me when I shot this, so I had an obstructed view of the building. I also cropped it a bit to eliminate the lanai floor. I agree that it is not the best presentation. In a later version I photoshopped the other half of the rainbow, which helps a bit with the awkwardness. Nice light here! I agree with Clyde. Not much to be done about the cropped building an rainbow, but it degrades the photo a bit. BTW, I looked at the PS-ed rainbow version and knowing that it wasn't there makes this one the better one for me.

Greatly seen and good coposition. Rainbow in an urban setting looks nice. Could be a little more sharp though.

j'aime ton choix, très érotique, bien cadré, classique
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 3 months ago:
Hi Jeff, I think I have to disagree with Olivier, I think the framing is a bit too tight, especially on the right and the bottom. I would like to see a bit more "breathing room" in this. The background seems to fight for attention some too. Maybe a little selective color correction to knock back the greens and boost the main subject a little.
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) said 3 months ago:
Thanks, Beamer. I agree with your thoughts about this one.

This is beautiful. I like the dof and lighting/focus. I do agree with Beamer's suggestions - but really a great photo!

The leaves on the right are disturbing for me, without them the water would be more impressive on the picture.
MrVertigoo (Tomer Rozenblum) added a critique 6 months ago:
I would take the frame out of this one. i think it will look nicer without it.

I agree with the above comments, it is a good shot though, beautiful location

Truly a stunning location, a shame about the plant on the right but I suspect your on a cliff and movement was limited. Would love to see a more closeup of the lighthouse with the water.
photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:
i don't agree with the comments on the plant ! imo, they are interesting in the shot
good job

I think that this one is suffering from too dark shadows. Maybe DRI techniques could have helped here, but then still there is a bit too less going on in this scene to match my taste. (Even though the topic is "Trees"; Maybe then a bit more of that tree would be interesting; don't know)
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think this is a really cool image of the tree. I would crop just above the wall closest to the tree so all you have are the tree branches and black and nothing else. I did this by holding up a white paper. It creates a very interesting abstract image. Try it a see what you think...
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) said 1 year ago:
Thanks for the comments on this photo. When I made this photo I was interested in the way the light hit the leaves and the bushes. I kept the background dark to emphasize the light.
@Beamer: I tried your idea and agree that it makes an interesting abstract image.

Very nice Jeff. I might have been tempted to paint out the stem on the right. That might have pulled this over the top. A fav for me anyway!!

WOW!
Excellent shot.
Great POV that really lends itself to this angle.
I really like the inclusion of the sky and the cloud in the corner!
I also like the reflections that are seen all the way down the rails!

Thanks everyone for the comments. This photo was a lot of fun to make, except for the crick in my neck. ;P

@Jeff: I always tend to lose my balance when trying to capture these types of scenes. Annoys the hell out of me to be honest. I really need to learn to keep my balance :D
