You could have at least focused in on one flower to "try" to please everybody, George. :)
This has a wonderful impressionistic quality.
The colors compliment each other well.
George said 1 year ago:
Thanks Blizzard! I had fun working this.
uncommondepth (Roberta Murray) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for the help, I might go back and try to shoot it again. Seems like I was not to off on thinking it was a good compsition.
I was just using a little crapy Olympus that I carry around for times when I see something I want to record.
chromadreams (David) added a critique 1 year ago:
can you use ISO parameters?,I don't know if that model allows you to do it but if it does, maybe with a little less of ISO it would be sharper as Sher said, maybe with a 200 or even 100 it would be perfect for the shot
Raza (Raza Akhtar) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with others, and also think that the photo seems to be cut off at the edges. Just a little bit on the sides would add more depth.
rverspirit (eddie mchugh) added a critique 1 year ago:
It's kinda funky but I like it...reminds of a holga or pinhole image
kokii (Dana K) added a critique 1 year ago:
great idea, even the bit not sharp focus works in this case well

The photographed object definately has a story attached, but I find the photo as a whole a bit boring, the heart (the main object) is at the top and bottom slightly out of focus and there isn't much more to see as well.
Perhaps a different angle and less shallow DOF will produce a more interesting picture.
chromadreams (David) said 1 year ago:
I have another picture, that's why I asked for critiques, I'll post it maybe tomorrow.
Thanks for your opinion.

I like the idea and i like the subject.
I agree that I think there may be a better angle to achieve what you are looking for!
TerynYancey (Teryn Yancey) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the subject and agree there is a better angle.

His hair just makes his eye colour even more prominent. Nicely done.
jellybino (Robyn Shaw) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with everything else that was said as well. The light skin and dark hair are a great contrast.
chromadreams (David) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree at all with lightholder, but I miss the mouth, maybe it would work perfectly with the picture.

Thanks. This was before he got his braces and he had really horrible teeth and would never forgive me if I posted him showing his teeth.

Very pure color. Wonderful sky. The picture is beautiful whith or without the 2 small people.
zenith9 (Bob and Jeannie) added a critique 1 year ago:
The colours really set the scene here. I think the scene could have been improved if the person or people were stood on a higher part of the rock - they are tucked away a little and so lose a touch of impact in the scene.
chromadreams (David) said 1 year ago:
thanks zenith9, i agree with your comment, but i had a problem..., I made it with a 70-300 objective, I didn't new those people, you know what i mean?, ;-).
thanks for the comment again.
lolly (lolly smits) added a critique 1 year ago:
Not sure about this one! When I look at it in my browser and see it only up to just above the people's heads, it actually then *does* look like a minimalist image. And you then have three bands of colour -- the two in the sky and the water, with the dark rock on the right acting *then* as the focal point. I would really like sort of image. :~)
thoughtdujour (thought du jour) added a critique 1 year ago:
since we now know that it is a candid capture, I can say nicely done.

Pretty funny picture, nice colours and nice "vintage" feel of the old bike. However, I don't really like the softness, it almost look like a grey veil. I think that a shallow DoF centered on either the bike or the sign would have worked much better.
vanessapr (Vanessa Pike-Russell) added a critique 1 year ago:
I love the colours - soft and antique feel to this. I agree, a little bit of contrast would be good but not too much. Reminds me of days gone by and long bike rides down to the sea. Lovely image
Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) said 1 year ago:
Thanks for the criticism, I'm going to add some contrast before I put the image on my website.
chromadreams (David) added a critique 1 year ago:
the softness is the best part of the image, you have created a great atmosphere, so great, and the message you saw it's so god too, those dead colors works perfectly whit the softness.
Grat job Bastian, congratulations.

TammyLynn (Tammy) added a critique 1 year ago:
Lovely photograph of a child. I feel it would be more powerful if the hair wasn't blown out and some of the left side of the photograph cropped off so that the child was in the right third of the photo instead of the right fourth.
ties (Ties Dufraing) added a critique 1 year ago:
i think a classical 3/4 dimension or even a square could've worked better, but i absolutely love the scene. the bright child against the water is simply beautiful!
azurepro added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree, a cropped square would have worked better for me, but lovely idea and colouring.
chromadreams (David) said 1 year ago:
thanks for your comments, but really I don't think a square format would be better, well it's just about taste I think.
George - Lovely work as usual. The previously mentioned "Lack of focus" gives a surreal and dreamy quality. Very thought provoking work. Nice job!
