ok, as we say here in Spain, kitchen listened! =), thanks for the critique, and I'm going to apply what you say, maybe you're so right but I needed someone to give his/her opinion about the "second face", thanks again.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:

Ditto, above, plus: If she moved her left hand up just an inch, we would see more of it and it would close off the blue space between her hand and chin, which is a little distracting for me..

dcannaday added a critique 1 year ago:

Personally, I like the repeat of the face.. Not something you see very often. I really like it.

marcouet52 (Mario Arcouette) added a critique 1 year ago:

Personnaly i dont think it apply to the theme,
unless we want to see another theme "the spirit within us".
Otherwise the portrait would have been very nice by itself.
But dont loose that idea it could bring more approach
Thanks

thanks marcouet52

such a good composition, so interesting, but I think that the center it's a little bit overexposed, but maybe is that what makes it more interesting, I don't know but it has something so atractive.

annabc (Anna Cameron) added a critique 1 year ago:

I see a triptych - and a very interesting one. I like the original image, which seems to have an oriental feel to it to me, and I think it is enhanced by the simple borders and the desaturation on the centre section. It inspires me to try something similar...

Lamdennison (Leigh-Anne Dennison) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like the concept, and think it would perhaps be a bit stronger if the colors fades to gray with the third panel being monochromatic. I think the tree - both as a strong vertical element and as a textured element - would be stronger in B/W and more dramatic than the rock and foliage (and the water that ends up appearing over exposed). Of course, that's just my opinion.

andygibb (Andy Gibb) added a critique 1 year ago:

interesting idea, works well and love the detail and textres in the shot

I feel as if the boy had just cried, and the environment makes me think of a doctor's surgery. The way he holds his left arm and hand is strange, maybe the arm is broken, which would explain why he has cried.
OK, the flash is a bit strong. But at least, this is a pic which tells me something, and I guess it is a strong memory for you ;-)

ecannaday (jim schear) said 1 year ago:

The picture is not the most "artsy" photo i know, but for the topic, I thought it fit well. He had just broke his finger in a football game and tears from fear and pain are being held back in order to be a 'big boy'.

ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) added a critique 1 year ago:

...And he's a "big boy". Yes the photo can't be considered a "piece of art" but when he will show it to his girlfirend and will smile together he will also remember this "shot with a story"

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:

I agree with just about everything above. But... this is a chance to learn and grow as a photographer, there are ways to improve in every photo, that's why we post them and ask for comments.
With this capture, the best comment is to improve the cropping to really focus in on his face. I would crop the bottom just above the spot on his left thigh being sure to leave enough breathing room below his hands. And maybe a little more on the right. I would try to make the vignetting a little more subtle.
Good shooting...

on dirait un enfant battu avec ses yeux cernés et rouges. Je ne sais pas ce que tu as voulu montrer sur cette photo

Waiting for that perfect wave... the division of space works well.

CodeRed (Cody Redmon) said 1 year ago:

Primo deluxe! You've captured a mood so very well with this shot, a 'focus' that compensates for the lack of crispness in the photo itself. It appears the depth of field is fairly narrow and runs left-to-right in the sand through the middle of the image, but in all reality I think this shot is fine the way it is. Too much focus would have distracted me from actually feeling the scene, instead drawing my eye repeatedly to review unnecessary details. I think we, as photographers, get hung up on sharpness sometimes. This is one of those shots where that mentality deserves to be set aside. Another fantastic shot!

Thanks for the comments everyone. This photo came about by chance as I did not stage this one.

You have excellent digital processing skills! I love the clarity and tones, especially the trees and sky!

mosesport (Moses) added a critique 1 year ago:

I agree that the sky detracts from the sign a bit, which should be the main focus. Also, the angle's a little hard for me to feel great about. It's a very well post-processed shot though. The detail is great as well. :) I'd like to see the sign brightened a bit. Great work though!

.moses.

manolomartin (manolo martin) added a critique 1 year ago:

i don't like the excess of process. it seems more a picture than a photo.

ties (Ties Dufraing) added a critique 1 year ago:

amazing signs!! so you're ok with the topic! the editing is also nicely done ... adds the perfect feel for this scene.

PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:

Crazy photo! I love it! I love the processing here! The angle kind of makes me dizzy but I think it makes the photo.

Lovely lighting and long shadows. Nicely exposed though a bit blown out in a couple of places. I feel like I'm being drawn into the light. :-) Over all beautiful photograph.

Yes, I like this. The whispy clouds look like faint brushstrokes of white paint on a blue background. The plane doesn't matter, but is an interesting add-on.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 1 year ago:

Yeah, I like this too.

chromadreams (David) said 1 year ago:

thanks for your comments

chromadreams (David) said 1 year ago:

well I want to say something about the plane, it really matter 'cause the composition is called "dreams of flying" and is dedicated to my brother who is a part of a plane crew, =).
thanks again for the comments.
