Fine scene, like a film still!

the flag is the eyecatcher in this very moody and low light image. cool composed with the 2/3 sky!

Nice composition, but I think it's a bit too dark. I'd like a little more detail in the boat.

i crushed the blacks on this deliberately...wanted the only highlight on the boat to be on the rim. But i guess it got a little too much...:)

I like this a lot too. I understand the thoughts about the foreground, both ways. My comment would be: if you wanted to isolate the rim of the boat and the flag, then try totally darkening the foreground, make the area to the right of the frame near the bottom all black. The little bit of highlights that are there pulls the eye a little away from the focus you wanted and you really can't tell what it is. Might work better that way??

For me the scene in the bottom of the photo is just too dark to make out all the details. I have the gamma adjusted on my screen to the appropriate level. I would suggest you lighten the photo a little bit. The composition looks decent though, and the colors great. Maybe it's just my screen?
