This is superb, CodeRed. The near white-out of the line of trees in the background gives this image a lot of power as it implies inclement weather and not just a static winter scene. Very fine work. I can't think of a thing I would change.

Something I've tried over and over, just can't seem to get it right like you did. Was it snowing or hazy? Just wondering how you were able to get the soft effect of the trees in the background. Don't change a thing!

Hi mrsmorunion. Thanks for your comment. The photo was taken during a very intense snowstorm between Bryce and Zion national parks in March '06. The snow was coming in waves and visibility shifted from 15 feet to 100 yards every few minutes or so. I posted up and waited for the scene to present itself. I have others from that day which vary in range of visibility, but this shot is the best representation of the mood from that day. I owe it all to the weather... Again, thanks for your comment.

simple and beautiful. I would not change anything. I love how the snow has blanketed the land leaving no other character of the land, not the curvature of hills, the outcrop of rocks...just the trees.
