Great subject... On the technical side, I'd say that the noise on the subject's face is distracting. Also, the woman to the right has a strong expression that I think detracts from the main subject. (Looks like she's in a deep conversation.)

I really like the glow and detail on the accordion... In my mind I can see a closer, vertical crop of this that just shows the man's face, hand, and instrument. That might remove the distractions of the microphone and other people. Of course, if you're going for a more environmental portrait, the tighter crop wouldn't be the right direction.

Anyhow, he definitely has character... I like his pinkie-ring. ;)

agreed that this subject is fantastic. i'm not sure the soft, fuzziness works too much. it distracts me -- especially the woman in the background. but his face is really sharp and i do think it helps bring life to the accordian.

and yeah, love the pinkie ring.

I like the woman in the background as for me she brings a lot of real atmosphere. the processing is good, but I agree on the noise on the player's face. In spite of a lot of fuzziness, the accordion is still very vivid.

too soft
the arm on the left needed in the frame
overall nice bar-singer pic

The atmosphere is really nice. I don't particularly like the microphone as that brings in a really modern feel. Without the microphone the picture would have been rather timeless. The picture is soft and very light. It's just unfortunate that the face and hand of the accordionist is a bit grainy.
