Matt, this is a lovely image. The contrasting textures of the glass smooth foreground against the turgid sea adds much movement to this image. Then of course the strolling bird and its shadow complete the journey of the eye around the image.
For a topic that can be so cliche, you've managed to evoke a variety of feelings in this piece. An image full of soul indeed. Congratulations.

Thanks Mark. What I liked about this image, too, was the monochromatic nature, even though it is in color. Sometimes the light is just perfect for this sort of thing. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.
