Well said Brandon. This is a perfect photo for this topic.

I keep being drawn to that expectant belly.
Always a miracle to me!I've seen lots of people with missing parts, but I feel that this is one brave woman.I hope she gets to see her grandchildren!

sfkp (Tamara) said 1 day ago:

Due to my work, I see this almost every day. A lot of women are 'warning' me for, what they call for themself, ugly body. They don't realize it's part of my job and I see it multiple times a day.

I see these women (and don't forget: a breast tumor can also be found in a man's breast) from the beginning when they have both their breast and coming for their first mammography and later on. So many people, so many ways to cope with it.

Images like this help to get people concious about the need for checking your breast every month. Furthermore it's also helpfull for women (and men) who did had a breast amputation and feeling accepted in society, they don't have to feel 'ugly' anymore.

Ricardo, you did a good job with adding this photo on Vazaar. It's isn't shocking, it is reality.

Your guess is as good as mine!!

Nice shot. I like the contrast and tones, together with the odd mix of structures.

So I can't help but wonder with a topic named "Human Body" what the *!@$ did people expect to be posted? The line between "art" and "eroticism" and "pornography" is not as some wish to believe a clear line, it is a gray and fuzzy boundary that each sees and interprets individually. I vote: ART

And as for the issue of "safe for work," I don't know where you all work, but my experience is that I would have no more problem with a nude on my computer than I would with a photo of a flower. Work is not for Vazaar; and Vazaar is not for work. (Except for Brandon, of course)

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 3 months ago:

Dear Bob, I am realy glad that You think so and that you write this. Because my English don't allow me to write this, but I think the same. I hope soon on Vazaar will be topic NUDE!

lbstone (Brandon Stone) said 3 months ago:

For anyone who is coming in late on this, there is an additional conversation in the Vazaar Discussion group. That is where I'll focus my follow-up on the subject:

groups.google.com/group/vazaar/browse_thread/threa...

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 3 months ago:

Bob... during my lunch (I eat at my desk) I like to browse vasaar and a few other photo blogs.
And it wasn't in the "human body" topic that it was opened, but when it was featured on the front page.

I agree that this reminds me that these days are coming soon!

KerriDoodle (Kerri) added a critique 10 months ago:

Very lovely - the composition is wonderful and the lines look to participating in a ballet together.
This almost looks like powdered sugar...

One of the best in this topic IMO... love the colors and moody atmosphere. (I also really like abandoned places like this)

bslomovic (Brant Slomovic) said 1 year ago:

Really interesting post processing on this one Sean. Very nice, I love it.

Viper (Dan McMurray) said 1 year ago:

Sean. Great job. Very "surreal" atmosphere. The high contrast works well for this. It has a dream-like qualty to it. The sporadic light on the fields through the clouds just adds to the overall interest.

lolly (lolly smits) said 11 months ago:

For me, it has a surreal feel to it that I quite like. The hut really stands out and is the focus IMHO.
