Really a very beautiful image, also like the shadows, textures and color range... - Congrats forgingahead, yeah !!!

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

Thank everyone. Another shot of this bridge was featured way back when in the Reflections topic...and I have lots more for future topics!! I had not expected this one to be featured because the symmetry was off kilter a bit.

kyla (Kyla) said 1 year ago:

Great shot Bob. This would have also worked for rust.

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Kyla, but actually it would not. This color is not from rust, but it the actual color of the material used. Maybe "rust-colored" but not truly "rust" as in oxidized iron.

Fantastic shot!

Just for fun...this was a OOF shot I took of Philippe and Christine -- yeah, Philippe from WS and Vazaar -- last March when they were in NYC. We took a photographic stroll through Central Park and I tried to get a nice shot of them with my Dad's ancient Welta Weltax camera. The lens really does not focus well, so ... well ... embrace the blur!!

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

I think the guy on the left is a bit fat... Although I can't see clearly because the picture is a bit blurry...
:O)))

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

I mean: on the right...

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

Uh oh...I bet you wish you could take that faux pas back! Just blame it on the blur!

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:

this reminds me of my very first shots as I was a child... the cam was to heavy to take a sharp pic :-))))

Sher (Sher Hilliard) said 1 year ago:

Am I the only one who feels something is missing here?

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

It is sort of empty, isn't it? I have often wondered why my father took this picture and what he was trying to express. But, at least for me, that "absence" speaks to me of the loss of my father. But, that is my personal interpretation.

uncommondepth (Roberta Murray) said 1 year ago:

I still think it's appropriate. The emptiness speaks of the cold, impersonal feeling from staying in such a place. And I think it's very appropriate in this image.

methan (András Németh) said 1 year ago:

grats for being featured.

Blumie (Sabine) said 1 year ago:

I wondered, where you found such an old looking room, but this is real. Great stuff and glad, you still have it.

This is an edit of post #78 in response to a comment from Philippe, plus a few other post processing changes.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Well, what do you think? I like this one better.

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

Yeas, I agree it is much cleaner than the first attempt.

Very nice Bob. I think old cemeteries are one of the most fascinating places that hold such great beauty. The older ones seem to have the most character thanks to the way nature seems to try to reclaim the tombstones - like you've shown us here.

methan (András Németh) said 1 year ago:

i could swear i see this stone moving as it sinks deeper and deeper into the soil. maybe my eyes are too tired. maybe it's an excellent capture.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

The remains of a forgotten civilization... :O)

charmarie (Char) said 1 year ago:

This is a good photo!

beckn32 (Kim Norton) said 1 year ago:

It's a wonder how the earth seems to reclaim, no matter how slowly.

This looks like one of your film images Bob. Is it? Nice subject in any case.

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

Roberta, it's all digital, taken at Saratoga Race Track summer 2006.

charmarie (Char) said 1 year ago:

Wow this is a cool shot!

Naturespixel (Leisa Hennessy) said 1 year ago:
