Very lovely - the composition is wonderful and the lines look to participating in a ballet together.
This almost looks like powdered sugar...

it reminds me to one images i took some years ago.
but nevertheless a nice one.

How wonderfully mundane and yet so unique. This is classic and quite printworthy. I'd be proud of this one

Another great shot! I agree with the cropping, opens a lot of visual possibilities and lets my imagination run! This is a freakishly cool plant I take it! I still think it looks like body art - this one looking more like a series of teeth trying to eat something!
grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like it a lot. I wonder if it would have been possible to remove the lightness near the top.
MMeye added a critique 1 year ago:
I like it very much, for the same reasons already said above, good shot !
Rather than a critique, just a suggestion : I wonder whether you could not have shut a bit more, in order to have the leaves sharper in the foreground.

Beautiful contrasts...lovely pic. I saw the color version in your site, loved it even more :)
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 9 months ago:
Yep, the color one is better.

Great moment captured.
soreks (Fedor Soreks) added a critique 1 year ago:
The scenery is great: black/white contrasts, waterscape, and mountains. I'm not sure about skies, they a just a white area.
As for the human presence, it looks to an extent disproportional to the scenery. I think cropping everything above water, like this would add impact.
dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:
don't fall in!
rvercesi (Ricardo Vercesi) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with soreks (Fedor Soreks) regarding the sky. Choosing to keep it, you could have burned it a bit to get some detail there. Better yet, cropping as soreks mentioned would enhance the overall look of the photo, adding great impact on the subject.

I love the colors in the picture. Very nice.
How did you do it?
marc_l (Marcel Wenzel) said 1 year ago:
thx for your comments.
@ Ca-va-seul (Lopachin) & pedrorueda
i did not do much postprocessing. it's a HDR image made of 3 images just to get the right exposure for the sky. the rest is playing with the curves and reducing the colour saturation with the gradient map and try to match the colours with selective color.
thats it:)

magic shot or postprocessing...

Very nice execution. Like it b/w.
I would clone out the blck dots on the upper petel.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:
I really wish the tip of the pedal wasn't so blown out, maybe burn it back in PS a little. Nice DoF, I like the imperfection on the pedals, makes it look more real.
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) said 1 year ago:
I see what your talking about with the blown out portion...never noticed that before. This is an OLD OLD photo of mine...from when I first started shooting. It's from my Canon EOS Elan 7e, so it's film. I'm not exactly sure how to do the proper editing in PS without getting the super grain film gives me when it's scanned in.

I like your use of space, but it's a little overexposed, I think. Nice composition!

Thank you boyd. The sky was bright blue, totally contrasting with the dark surrounding, I measured the exposition on a neutral grey before shooting.
imagenature (Alexander Belokurov) added a critique 1 year ago:
You have a good eye... The idea is great. I agree with previous posts that the dark area on the top does not make any justice to the image. I would try either crop it tighter to the grass in water or, maybe, covert to black in white.

nice i like its low colors and high contrasts, like a bleach bypass pic

I adore this yellow flower on this green and yellow. Beautiful composition, with the detail of the flower which is encrusted on our principal subject. Beautiful photograph. Greetings.

Wonderful composition.
Great details and awesome DOF!
rdavs (Rhonda Spencer) added a critique 1 year ago:
Everything here works, the colors are wonderful and the framing of the flower slightly out of the shot adds to its interest!

I like this photo for the lighting, DOF, the moment & expression of the boy playing, however I would have liked the crop to be more open showing more space above the boys head and not cropping the bottom of the acordian. It would have made the picture pop more.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree, the capture is nice enough, just feels too tightly framed/cropped. Showing the context of the street/sidewalk would add more interest.
imagenature (Alexander Belokurov) added a critique 1 year ago:
Lovely subject... well captured. Great exposure. Agreed that cropping is not making justice to the photo.
grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 1 year ago:
The framing seems off to me too. Perhaps it would have worked better square or vertical.
p.s. I used to have that exact accordion. It must be a relatively common model.

Getting past cropping issues - great joy is communicated here - well done!

Nice shot, but I think I would like it even better if you hadn't cut the bottom. Perhaps with a little bit wider angle, leaving a narrow border in front of the animal.
klear added a critique 1 year ago:
This is nice because you don't usually see an animal like that in such a coastal shot. I don't mind that he's in the lower right corner.
paddlepunk (Holger Neu) added a critique 1 year ago:
the see looks strange, like taken with bad quality and and small size, then tried to make it bigger...
imagenature (Alexander Belokurov) said 1 year ago:
to paddlepunk: it is one picture, no montage... maybe bacause the see is out of focus or jpg comression on small preview?

Wonderful idea and execution.
