I took it at the end of last year, so I'm no longer entirely positive—the original is on a hard drive in another country at the moment. I think the saturation was increased a bit, but I don't recall adjusting the hue very radically. There was a fairly wide range of coloration on those grasshoppers.

Very nice shot. I like it no matter how it was made. Those grasshopers sure are crazy looking.

Hey, is that a mouse in your pocket? lol
Sorry, couldn't resist. Wonderful photo.
Really like the colors and although I'm not a fan of rodents in general, that sure is a cute one!

whats going on here? Interesting image, but I have not a clue as to what it is.
jonathanpatt (Jonathan Patt) said 1 year ago:
It's actually my hand holding a ruler. I was attempting to test the distance kept in focus on my 50mm lens at f/1.8.

wow, I love it. The mystery created with such a simple shot. Cheers!

Outstanding image...it must have been spectacular in person.
jonathanpatt (Jonathan Patt) said 1 year ago:
Thank you. It was more spectacular in person than the photo conveys, actually.

Wow, its great. How did you take this?
jonathanpatt (Jonathan Patt) said 1 year ago:
It was a nest in a bush, shot with a 100mm macro lens.

Beyond scary. Disturbing. Vignetting is good; I like how you took it to one color and contrast is perfect. The subject however... ewww! :)

I see beauty in this shot... it's not about the subject and our rooted disgust from rats (is a rat btw?) it's about the sharpness of the eye that grasped the agony ... terrific

Wow! Is that its real coloration?
