Thank you very much for the comment. I already have a black and white one of him up, so I thought I would try the color version. How would you suggest making the colors less flat?

I posted the same pic in B&W for you to compare. Tell me what you think.

Oh good! I'll look for the bw! Try adjusting the curves a bit in PS. You can play with the overall RGB or the individual red, blue or green. That's what I do. I'm sure there are plenty of other tricks other people can teach you, too!

The first trick would be to buy PS. I am working on that though. Could you make the background all on pictures with PS? I really like that effect when I see it displayed.

make the background black on all pictures. Sorry left that out.

Yeah, there are a lot of things you can do with a little photoshop knowledge.
And if you don't want to spend the money on it, there is always Gimp (Gimp.org) which is pretty good for free software. It's not photoshop but you can still do some decent photo editing with it. It's tricky to learn at first, but just play with it and you'll get it!

Once again, thanks I will try it but it seems that most people use PS. It will be a fun toy to get and play around with.

I agree with photoDaniels.
If you cannot afford PS, get gimp.
It will at least get your feet wet and give you some ideas of what you can do.
Also there are some specific scripts from gimp that i use.
Depending on the situation, i would do raw through PS, minor changes, run through gimp script, finish in PS.
Really give it a try!

I just love the soft sweet expression. I'll check out the black and white because I think that would be great here! great job!

I like the portrait but there are too many shadows...

What a sweet, sweet face!! I would like to see this one in black and white, just to compare. I think the colors are a little bit flat but those eyes steal the show! He is so beautiful!
