A whole another look too the topic architecture: usually their are about details of a building or a panoramic view where you can see the building in all its greatness.
However the picture shows hardly any details, it's very recognizable. Well done! Only thing what's bothering me a bit (just a bit nitpicking) are the two poles left from the tree.
Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) added a critique 7 days ago:
Great how you placed the sun directly behind the main structure. The picture looks like a fractal - great effect.
I agree with Tamara that the two poles are in the way, but what could you do? Take a large axe along on your next photo shoot?

In my view too much empty areas and silhoette makes this worse. Not a shot write home about!

I agree with Beamer. Beautiful piece of art.

Terrific work. The colors and form go so well together; and it has that Asian flair which I love so much. Simple but beautiful. If I were creating this image for print, I would lose the border and, of course, your watermark/name. Otherwise the image is perfect. Nice job!

Good work!

I agree with the others. Maybe if you would transcribe your name into Japanese characters (Katakana)? That way you would have both the effect of Asian text and your name in the picture.
You could www.takase.com/Library/Glossary.htm#KATAKANA for this.
Lovely picture.

Millions of people in the mainly Roman Catholic country of the Philippines celebrate Easter every year, with some penitents following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ even up to the point of being nailed to a cross.

Espectacular trabajo donde hasta los mínimos detalles muestran su importancia, (pequeña leyenda sobre el pecho). En mi opinión ha sido un acierto por su parte ver esta composición en B*W ya que le infiere fuerza, en otros casos poder.Enhorabuena lasiate. Saludos

Dramatic, to say the least. Well seen and beautiful job with the black and white. I would also love to see a color version of this shot. Congrats on a great photo.
Best,
Jon
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 month ago:
The dark edge/halo is disappointing. What were you needing that matte for? I assume trying to pull out the sky more? Seem like this was captured under exposed maybe. I think you could do more and do better with the post processing on this one The image still needs more "punch". You have a nice dramatic subject and a strong angle and composition.
boyd added a critique 1 month ago:
The subject and composition are very strong here. I find the tonal range all a little unexpected, but not altogether displeasing.

luan (Luan Huynh) added a critique 2 months ago:
I'm not so certain about the composition. To me, it seems that she is just asking for some money as an off hand thing, whilst she was passing by. I think if she was walking towards the middle of the frame, it would be a more striking picture.
narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 2 months ago:
Very good photo, interesting composition. I think the women would make a very interesting photo, maybe more of a close-up on her face. Good job though!!

The foreground is so interesting and inviting, I think the sky is a little too big. Maybe crop off @20-25% of the top and it might make a more "inviting" composition, allowing the eye more freedom to explore the beach and water.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 2 months ago:
I usually agree with Clyde, but this time, however, I have to say the composition works for me without the suggested crop. The suggested crop is probably how I would have shot it. But Lasiate has given us his vision and it creates something very beautiful, I think. For me, this shot has a strong and positive message.
Best,
Jon

Oh...this is really such an amazing capture! The artwork as a backdrop for these children works wonderfully. It's as though they have escaped a nightmare, and are completely unscathed. If I were to do it differently, I wouldn't change a thing :)
stilfoto (Stefan Nielsen) added a critique 4 months ago:
A great capture indeed - a pcure I can look at for a long time...
The children are perfectly placed in the frame and doing it in B&W was the right choice. The only minor thing I might have done differently is crop out the door on the left - but as I said: It's a minor thing. All in all it's a great picture.
sambhara (Michael Bogdan) added a critique 2 months ago:
I don't know which i like best; the children or the art work. One thing is for sure; they go great together...

Very original idea for this category. Very moving and wonderful photo. This capture inspires in me a desire to give more than I am giving to our global community. Well done, my friend.

I would have been tempted to convert this to b&w, but I am glad you have presented as is because it is a very strong image. I agree with the above comments and commend you on a very sensitive treatment of the subject (I particularly like the engagement with the subject's eyes). Bravo!

This is wonderful. The skin tone and the contrast are lovely. My preference would be to see a tiny bit more breathing room to the right of his eye before the shadow, but I'll bet shifting him in the light would cast less light on his left eye, which is exposed perfectly!!!
Lovely.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:
I've looked at this several time before commenting. It is a wonderfully intriguing image. Great capture. Not sure I would change anything, but if you have anymore image at the top, you might drop the face more towards the center of frame, show a little more forehead and a little less chinroom.
