Just beautiful.

The out of focus element of this is perfect. Reminds me of Julia Margaret Cameron a bit.

This reminds me of old movies, in which the light was so particular. If this pic was an extract of this kind of movie, I would hesitate between the sad story of a poor man rejected by everyone, or a dangerous, mad creature, who is about to make a new murder. Anyway, a great image.

A real miracle, wonderful !!
Congrats on the feature, I'm scared ;-)

I get this sense that the man is sitting there, to warn those who come by not to go up the hill.

Awesome! :)

Interesting post-processing. It would also fit in 'surrealistic'. The buildings looks like they were painted. Nice job!

Interesting postprocessing, surrealistic alsmost. It would fit in that topic also. I like the effect the high speed makes on the bottum of the image. The building looks like the were painted... nice job!

I understand and support the choice of aspect ratio for this. I just think it a "bit" to tight on the top, needs just about a half an inch more...imo. Lovely expression, nice treatment. Small picky thing...this looks so "old school" one little thing that bothers me, the pierced ear. I would have cloned that out.
This is very elegant looking, good job.

Wonderful work. I actually like the ear ring - nice detail, in my opinion. Super job of lighting this - amazing!

It does remind you of an old movie. The shot is very well done and the softness of the photo just adds to it's impact!

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 9 months ago:

Dream mentioned the perfect looking skin and the fact that he wish to see more of the eyes. I think this is just the excellent part of the picture, except for the framing and the b&w of course. The perfectness of the skin is partly because of the very soft tone, here. The fact that the eyes are not that visible is increasing the mistery behind the person. Very well done. It reminds indeed of a 60's photo.

I like the contrasts in this image : the house comfortable inside, probably warm, and the man working in the street, where it is obviously cold. Only one glass between two worlds. Very good.
