Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:

I disagree with the above. The topic is Beach not person. I think the mystery surrounding the person works well. I like it as is. Wonderful work.

cutebutstupid (Amy Baxter) added a critique 1 year ago:

I actually agree with Sher on this one. Although I do wonder what a straight b/w would like. Wonderful idea!

jcniguez (José Carlos Ñíguez) added a critique 1 year ago:

Una fotografía con encanto. El viraje a sepia-rosaceo, un gran acierto. Encuadre, contraste, profundidad de campo y saturación muy buenos; solamente y coincido con Jeff en que se podría haber aclararado la silueta de la figura humana y definirla más. ¡Enhorabuena!

ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) added a critique 1 year ago:

Cool !!! I'm happy it has been featured.

sunside (Markus Mayer) added a critique 3 months ago:

I really don't see much to improve here. One thing could be the shadows. I'd probably light that guy up just a little bit so that a little more detail is visible, but it would be really a fine tweak. I'm not sure what that thing is that hangs there on the third bar, but when I think about it, the photo would lose something if that would have been removed.
Really, that's a great shot!

she looks sad. I think I'd play with the contrast level some. Bring out more of the detail of the stone.

Very beautiful image - Needs cropping or lightening on the left for it to really work - in my opinion.

Best,

A very nice shot. The bridge in the fog. But I think the photo is better without the bird.

Very strong image. Almost belongs under the topic "a shot with a story" and I'm sure its a sad story. The lighting for me, is perfect. I love it.

Leilani added a critique 1 year ago:

Its the lines, contrast and consistant texture of wood that really does it for this photo. I think the bear? on the right can be quite distracting, I would consider cropping him out. That chair against everything really is lovely but my eye keeps getting drawn to the right.

PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:

Beautiful reflection! Photos like this make me love black and white!! What is that thing on the right? It looks like it's ready to jump in!! I vote to keep it - adds a little flavor to your photo! Very nice!

sunside (Markus Mayer) added a critique 1 year ago:

I too am wondering what that thing on the right is but think that removing it would also remove much of the photo's impact on the viewer, as there is missing something. If you should remove the bear? there then add something else, i.e. a person.
I also like the lines, curves and the contrast! Good work!

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for the comments. For those who are wondering, the "thing" on the right is a ceramic pig (I don't own it; I just photographed it). This photo was made at a charity event on Maui. I liked the pool, reflections, and arbor. The pig just came with the view and I decided it gave the photo another point of interest, so I kept it in the frame.

Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 8 months ago:

Stunning contrast...that chair is simply gorgeous!

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 9 months ago:

Like the shot - original and good use of space - I don't like that the right hand is as overexposed as it is. Good job.

Best,
Jon
