I guess that's what they get for going off road in a 2wd car ;) Possibly if you were a little higher looking down on the car?

Nice cloudsfor the theme. The shot seems overly straight forward and the color appears lacking.

mjmilloy (M-J Milloy) added a critique 1 year ago:

Yeah, thirding the idea of tilting up to get less foreground in the shot.

Also, n'thing the raves. This really is a beaut of a shot! Do tell - where is it? Western US?

bigoode (Anthony le Bourlier) added a critique 1 year ago:

this picture show us how small we are on earth
i love the color of the clouds becaming threatening
your crop is perfect like that i think.

Really nice portrait, nice use in B&W
Well done

oz_sprog (Will Williams) added a critique 1 year ago:

You've caught the lighting perfect, the darkness of her eyes really draws her expression. The only thing I'd say is it could be cropped a little closer, too much background.

weejames (James Constable) added a critique 1 year ago:

I agree with Oz. Its a really excellent capture but needs to be cropped tighter round the face. The empty background draws the attention away from this excellent portrait.

Jenseye (Jen) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very nice portrait...B&W is perfect for this.

caryscott (Cary Scott) added a critique 1 year ago:

Excellent portrait with excellent sharpness and contrast. I do agree that it would be even better with a tighter crop.

bokeh-junior (Ed Simons) added a critique 1 year ago:

Beautiful colours, composition and sharpness. The figure in the foreground adds interest. Could be used as a promotional picture for the Dominican Republic.

Great photo! The colors are very interesting, and the few people down at the bottom really add to the composition. Beautiful!

Orang Asli in the Taman Negara National Forest, Malaysia, I love to know what people think :)

AndreiMorar (Andrei Morar) said 1 year ago:

I wish the eyes were better lit up and that the photo was more off-center. Preferably in portrait mode. I also think the background is a little disturbing by not being OOF enough.

You could try cropping it.

What were those sticks in his hair?

oz_sprog (Will Williams) said 1 year ago:

I agree about the cropping, it could have done with a bit more. The sticks in his hair are blow pipe darts. Thanks for commenting :0

I like it, has a "Blade Runner" feel. The one thing I would like to see more of is some traffic headlight blurs and maybe a little more focus on the 2 prominent building on the right foreground.

Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think this one is excellent. It really shows "Big City" it seems to go on forever.

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very good processing it's like "Sin City" in "Big City",or a french movie "Renaissance"
Well done

Blumie (Sabine) added a critique 1 year ago:

Oh no! I do not have enough english words for this. In German, the Viennise way, I would say: "Bist du deppart!" which would be translated into "Are you crazy!" but it does not mean the same. I is a scream that means, I am so impressed, so amazed about what I see. If any of my postings in this topic would win over this posting, I would feel ashamed.

the movement is awesome-but like the others i would like to see the horse a bit lighter-perhaps in colour

lbstone (Brandon Stone) added a critique 1 year ago:

I really like the darkness of the horse. I think that might just be a matter of personal taste. To me, the darkness adds weight and impact to the image.

My only critique would be that the eye feels unnaturally lightened... I instantly think "Photoshop" when I see it against the darkness of the horse. I understand why you lightened it... I would have done the same. My personal preference would be to do it a little more subtly, though, so it appears more natural.

My apologies if I missed the mark and it wasn't artificially lightened. ;) If that's the case then, I'm impressed that you could catch the light like that.

oz_sprog (Will Williams) said 1 year ago:

Ibstone - The lighting of the eye wasn't photoshopped, that's all natural. I did run the image through PS to adjust the levels and a little contrast though. The image was orginally color, well yellow since I forgot to remove the filter when I changed slide film! My slide scanner I think emphasised the eye lighting effect when I scanned it as B&W and I liked it, I just need to know what other people thought :O Thanks for commenting!
