I agree with Sher, the detail on the horse has been lost in the shadows. Other than that, nice shot.

The only problem I have with this one that it's a classic motion blur vs crisp concept - and for that the static part - the horse that is - a bit too dark. I agree with sher, a little more detail would do good here.

I wish it wasn't quite so dark as well. But I do like the sense of movement.

the movement is awesome-but like the others i would like to see the horse a bit lighter-perhaps in colour

I really like the darkness of the horse. I think that might just be a matter of personal taste. To me, the darkness adds weight and impact to the image.
My only critique would be that the eye feels unnaturally lightened... I instantly think "Photoshop" when I see it against the darkness of the horse. I understand why you lightened it... I would have done the same. My personal preference would be to do it a little more subtly, though, so it appears more natural.
My apologies if I missed the mark and it wasn't artificially lightened. ;) If that's the case then, I'm impressed that you could catch the light like that.

Ibstone - The lighting of the eye wasn't photoshopped, that's all natural. I did run the image through PS to adjust the levels and a little contrast though. The image was orginally color, well yellow since I forgot to remove the filter when I changed slide film! My slide scanner I think emphasised the eye lighting effect when I scanned it as B&W and I liked it, I just need to know what other people thought :O Thanks for commenting!

I would like to see a bit more detail on the horses head - I feel this is a bit too dark.
