Ah a 5 sting bass, nice reflections in this too. I wish I could see the "V" in the name better, small thing though...

paddlepunk (Holger Neu) said 1 month ago:

well i focused the knobs and the reflections there, i i had focused the V you wont see all knobs correctly i think that this would be more disturbing

The grass on the upper left corner distracts.

"psychedelic camouflage" is a good way to describe this building. I felt the stairs, doors and stairway supports added a bit of stability to the confusion of colors. I'm glad you like the overall effect. :)

Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) added a critique 2 months ago:

Well-seen, well-captured. Good image!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 month ago:

Very cool subject. But very "documentary" framing, if that's what you were going for, then you did well. This just looks like something you could have explored a bit to find more drama/interest. I find little bits that are interesting, but as a whole it looses me pretty quickly. My fav part is the little air conditioner(?) unit under the stairs.

paddlepunk (Holger Neu) added a critique 1 month ago:

nice wall... looks like a comic, not really real^^

ApurvaMadia (Apurva Madia) added a critique 1 month ago:

IMHO perfectly seen and composed. Looks just great. You may even crop out the bottom strip of ground and it will be a winner. Congratulations.

OK, you can't wrap it around a leaf, maybe a branch... Way too early in the morn to be typing accurately!

oz_sprog (Will Williams) added a critique 2 months ago:

Great exposure level, the light levels are well balanced too.

warreagle (Amy Warr) added a critique 2 months ago:

love this

Olegslayer added a critique 2 months ago:

I would say that this is an amazing photo, but the only thing that is distracting is the blown out leaf in the center. I am surprised at how clearly this shot came out considering the circumstances, but I feel like you can get away with the top leaves being slightly overexposed, but the leaf in the center is a bit distracting and almost noisy.

paddlepunk (Holger Neu) added a critique 1 month ago:

okey it isnt easy to make good water photos, but i think it should have been longer or shorter exposed. longer to make it smoother, and shorter to make the water clearer, i think this would look the best, if the water would look clearer

Thanks, that's what I thought.

I think the slight out of focus horse, totally makes the shot, I love it, a fav for me :)

Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) said 1 month ago:

Thank you so much Will

Neuner added a critique 1 month ago:

I'm having trouble seeing your different message. I get it, but it still is too easily taken that you used autofocus and the camera focused on the barbed wire instead of the horse.

paddlepunk (Holger Neu) added a critique 1 month ago:

hm.. also wenn ich ehrlich bin is mir des bild zu matt und zu hell... ausserdem wärs cooler wenn der fokus auf dem pferd läge

boyd added a critique 3 months ago:

I don't quite know what to make of this shot. I think that I understand the relationship of the space with the chairs and tables, but there seems to be a bit too much of the ceiling included and it seems to dilute the effect. Including the case adds interest, but it might be better if this was slightly sharper focus. I think that this form has some real potential that can be explored some more.

unsere schule... wahrlich ein trostloser anblick...
naja irgendwie es thema triffts, aber dem photo fehlt doch noch es gewisse etwas...

I agree with boyd pretty much. This really doesn't feel "empty" to me.

A pesar de que me encanta la toma la encuentro un poco oscura quizá demasiada saturación. El color rojo es impactante.
Saludos

wow, that color is intense!

A mí la saturación y el enorme contraste de los colores hacen que me guste mcuho esta foto.

Gran toma

I think the red may be a bit too itense...but it still is a great photo!

CouCou33 (Ingrid) added a critique 9 months ago:

Thanks for uploading the original :-)
It's crazy what one can do with post processing !
Nice job.
But I agree on the building and the red being too saturated.
It nicely fit the topic though ;-)

Thank you, everyone! Yes, this was shot from my very cramped coach seat on a commercial airline. I just managed to be in the right seat (behind the wing) on the right side (actually the left) at the right time of day (just after dawn) and managed to get the shot as we circled around over the ocean after takeoff. After the last time I'd had an early morning flight out of LAX I swore I'd never fly without my camera again! I got some other nice shots during the flight, but this was the magic moment.

I like this, but the crop is a little tight. Good color and feeling of movement-wish it were just a little bit sharper.

Best,
