WONDERFUL IDEA !!! My favourite photo - such a simple idea brought to perfection. Even my little son plays with the spoon reflection every lunchtime but to do this with it would never come to my mind. Congratulations playful soul !

I think a better option might have to use a longer exposure.
paddlepunk (Holger Neu) said 1 year ago:
well it was the longest available on my cam^^
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:
I understand that your camera is not able to make a longer exposure, but a longer exposure is really what is needed to pull off a shot like this. There really isn't enough detail here to give it impact.
The topic noir is a tough one to figure out, but for me, I'm not really getting the connection here. I don't think my submission hits the mark either. I'm getting a better understanding what was intended from other submissions.

Sorry, it does not make it for me either.... You had to take it a bit earlier with more light available.

This isn't bad, but doesn't say enough.

Yes, you're right with the colors, but it was a cloudy day, it even started to rain 10 minutes after this picture. I didnt't have any idea how to make it better...
mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:
Great take on the theme.
I agree that everything looks muted but i do like the composition!
paddlepunk (Holger Neu) added a critique 1 year ago:
well... there could be better contrasts, it looks a bit foggy^^ quite easy with post processing ;)
photo24 (Sven H.) added a critique 1 year ago:
contrast !
hard time to identify the topic. but you had an eye for the interesting beach shape ! if its not done from a helicopter, try to redo it.

Sven is right, of course. Lovely view and composition anyway!

Beautiful colour contrast of the blue sky and the red rocks.Very Good saturation of the colours and you captured the road very well.
dreamer247 (Ben Godkin) added a critique 1 year ago:
wonderful lighting and colors. Not too over saturated. it looks natural. Nice complimentary colors.
paddlepunk (Holger Neu) added a critique 1 year ago:
nice ska and background

This is wonderful, and I love the square crop, especially with a subject such as this that so many go for the huge wide crop.
I may have just creeped over to the right a little bit to see more of the darker formation on the right, cutting off the left at the point where the hillside curves down to meet the tree branch. I suspect you may have been avoiding placing the trail dead center, or you wanted to place the emphasis on the golden light of the cathedral 'spire'.
Some people (not here!) may wonder about the saturation, but having been out west and seen places like this for myself, I know the color is spot on.
I am guessing that you caught this just prior to sunset, where the light is not quite golden yet, but will be very soon. Good job on capturing that glow.

i like the feel that at first glance the bench seems to be randomly located in the field

i think this is a wonderful photo! nicely done! possibly a different angle would also be great!

I love this shot... I just really really want to sit there. I also love the composition. The fact that the bench hides some of the scenery I don't mind so much. It tells me that I'm not there. In order to enjoy that scenery, I must sit down in that lovely bench.

No HDR here... I've played with HDR, but I've not had any luck with it, yet. I'll check to see if I have a shot with a higher camera angle, and post it if I do.
raphshap added a critique 1 year ago:
great shot, i just might like to see it in black and white with a high contrast level, i think that would make the graffiti and the grasses really pop and make a cool atmosphere
LadyWings (Kara Brothers) said 1 year ago:
I actually did shoot this in black and white as well, but liked the color better. I'll put up another black and white bridge for you though.

nice, but what is it?
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:
are those stairs? The tilt is getting to me and I can't tell :). With the DOF, I can't really see the water until it gets further out, and even then I'm not seeing a lot. I'm with paddlepunk! What is it? Very unique angle! I like it - I'm just not sure it fits in this topic cause I don't know what it is!
TheAntipodes (Menno van Zaanen) said 1 year ago:
It's a fountain on circular quay in Sydney, Australia. The water spirals down, which explains the "steps" and the "steps" have small ridges on it that make the water move more randomly.
The fountain is quite big and solid, but somehow the spiraling down, combined with the ridges give it a dynamic whole. That is also what I tried to capture here. The solidity of the stone combined with the (forced) flow of the water.
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:
You definately achieved it. I think maybe you could tell more of the forced flow with a little less DOF. You gotta post a full shot of this thing so I can see what your describing! you've peaked my curiousity!!

the motive is quite cool, but hum... for me it looks like the quality is bad: theres noise and so...
anita added a critique 1 year ago:
What a tough shot to capture. I wonder what your ISO was set at; I think it would be better with a lower ISO.
dcannaday added a critique 1 year ago:
This is a cool photo! It had to be a tough one to capture. Everything seems so perfectly symetric. Well, except for the guy on the bottom. Otherwise, like it a lot!
Gecko (Can Cellek) added a critique 11 months ago:
This is actually a good capture except for the noise, as the other people said. It's the ISO what is wrong, I think. In daylight or so, try to use lower ISO which will help you to have more contrast, more sharpen and better results. In night shots, try to use the lowest ISO as possible in order to get rid of the noise if you don't want to express something via noise.
Good luck!
Maravillosa, con una estética muy elegante. Felicitaciones.
Wonderful, with aesthetic a very elegant one. Congratulations
