the light is fantastic. great HDR processing. but i agree it would be perfect i the right corner wouldn't be cut off.

anagg (Ana Gonzalez Gaztelu) added a critique 6 months ago:

Muy chula,pero¿qué es la foto?.Saludos.

HuubL added a critique 3 months ago:

Wow, great shot and I'm not the only one who thinks so... This reminds me of Momo's staircase at the entrance of the Vatican museum.

Great composition and colour balance. It's almost mesmerizing to look at...

wow! looks like a painting or an animation! very interesting!

ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) added a critique 6 months ago:

Interesting processing here. A bit of Orton maybe? It does look like a painting. I personally find the trees in the background a touch dark, but that's just being a bit picky on my part. Nice image.

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 6 months ago:

Nice image.
Not a huge fan of the treatment but i think the effect came out well here.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:

i like the shot and the color, i'd like to see it without pp

blossompp3 added a critique 3 months ago:

Interesting subject and great processing. Love the colors!

Nice shot, but I think it's a little too dark. I lose the chain in the background.

selaux (Sarah) said 6 months ago:

yeah, youre right. i did reprint it lighter but it is being critiqued by my teacher right now. Thanks for the comment!

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:

i like this shot, the contrast is not a problem imo, i'd like to see it with a little higher crop

op_perrin (Olivier Perrin) added a critique 3 months ago:

j'aime le rendu, on sent la rouille craquelée sur la chaine.

The pose and the emotions on face of the model is too simulated!

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:

i don't agree i like the emotion on the face

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 6 months ago:

Well, imo the simulated pose is not bothering. Only thing that's a bit pity is the under-exposure of her face. But maybe it's just my taste. I also like the dress and hair who are almost becomes one with the background. Beatiful framing.

stilfoto (Stefan Nielsen) added a critique 4 months ago:

I think the pose and facial expression is ok here - but it seems to me like the picture should be rotated a bit clockwise.
And I would have liked a bit more light on her face as well...

Thank you...this is actually two yellow walls with a hallway between, it's just that by taking advantage of the angle it actually gives it a rounded feel. The various shades of yellow came simply from the lighting above.

crahan (Thomas Bouve) added a critique 10 months ago:

I keep coming back to this image to leave a comment, so I guess it does do something to me :). Very abstract. I Would have loved to see it a bit more off center though.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 10 months ago:

yellow abstract interesting i love it (perhaps just a little bit too centered)

pfeel (Phil Verges) added a critique 9 months ago:

Very intriguing, you have a great eye!
I'm not sure whether I think it's too centered or not, the black line makes all the difference (as Nick says).
If you can go back to this interior, you could shoot it again and experiment with different compositions, maybe even a vertical format?
Also, it might be interesting to catch the silhouette of a person in the distance down the hallway - lots of potential for more great stuff!

i like this shot.
the subject and light are very interesting but i think i'd like it better if the subject were more off center

boyd added a critique 9 months ago:

I agree that this is a really well controlled and presented image. The lighting is great and the details captured across the frame and use of B&W is very effective. I like that it is a shot in two halves with the road and building/water divided by the low wall. My only question with the composition is that the road and wall sort of sweep around and take my eye out of frame and there is nothing to draw me back in, but it just may be this tension that makes it an effective shot overall.

Sonoma added a critique 9 months ago:

Just Wow. Nice shot. I like it just the way it is.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 9 months ago:

Very strong and good composition - well seen and well presented! Thanks for sharing...instant fave.

Best,
Jon

I like it! The moon atop the spire is a great setup. I don't mind the lean...the weeping cherry on the left seems to be pushing it from the frame.

ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) added a critique 6 months ago:

Can't say that I like the lean all that much, I like the way the top points to the moon but this could be accomplished on a level angle. Also, there is quite a bit of sensor dust that should be cloned out.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:

i don't know exactly why but i like this shot

ErikUnger (Erik Unger) added a critique 5 months ago:

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess this what shot at Kiyomizudera in Kyoto Japan? If so, I have almost that exact same picture minus the cherry blossoms. The only thing I would nitpick is the contrast and saturation. Looks a little flat to me.

JLM (Joel Le Montagner) added a critique 5 months ago:

Trés classique mais bien vu. La lune est peut-être un peu trop prés du bord.
Manque un peu de peps...

very interesting shot, i like the dof. Tamara is right this shot is fascinating

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 6 months ago:

Very cool shot.
I like how two or so of the tongs are bent.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 6 months ago:

Eric,

I like this one. My only nit is with the upper right - the blown highlights of the yellow "stuff" take me out of the subject.

Best,
jon

Pixim (Eric) said 6 months ago:

Thank you with everyone for your opinions. Jon, you are right, these two luminous zones obstruct the reading of the image. I was especially afraid of a Dof too short, but this party taken is reasonable according to your reactions. Thank you still for your attention.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 5 months ago:

I agree with Jon the upper right corner is distracting and could easily be cropped out. What really bothers me is the arc of the base of the rake just touching the bottom edge of frame. Would be better with part of the handle showing or none of it.

Very nice take on an everyday object though.

Wow. This one really caught my eye. The 3 similar, yet very distinct colors, and the way it's done just seems like something out of a western. Awesome job.

This is very nice. I wish the streaks weren't so jagged. I wonder if there is any way to smooth them out without ruining the image??? The sky and the foreground water are great, wouldn't want to disturb them.
