oops...i'm so sorry about my comment on the fuziness...I completely looked over the fact that it was take on a camera phone!!

Me gusta el colorido. Hay algo en la parte de la derecha(quizá sean unas ramas)que estropea un poco el conjunto de los reflejos. Yo reduciría la parte oscura de la mitad hacia abajo.
Saludos.

I think it will be better if you croped the black bottom!

very interesting and unique choice of background, i'm not really sure why but I do like it. Good job!

lasiate added a critique 6 months ago:

une DOF osée et créative. La fleur un peu trop centrée pour moi

Drkev (Cristian Vladoaica) added a critique 6 months ago:

i don't see the message in this photo.
The "flower" is right in the middle.
I really don't like the composition.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) said 6 months ago:

thanks for the comments, the flour is maybe too centered but sorry it is not right in the middle

DrKev, sorry, perhaps i'm wrong but i don't find your comment very constructive

breaves (Brennan Greaves) added a critique 6 months ago:

I think the unfocused flowers in the front really add a lot to the photo

annesgallery (Anne Trigg) said 6 months ago:

Hi Noah!

Thanks for your comment! This technique has worked well for me in the past with landscapes - but perhaps you are right here. I do not think I like this one with the foreground and distance blurred as much as I like another one I took with the foreground in focus and the background beyond the flowers blurred!

annesgallery (Anne Trigg) said 6 months ago:

Hi Brennan!

I guess this is a matter of personal choice, taking a good look at this again, I believe I could have done with more flowers in focus beyond rather than just the one bloom and bud that I focussed upon. Thank you for your comment - really appreciate it!

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:

i like this shot, good dof, it seems peacefull

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 6 months ago:

Playing with DOF, creates depth in the picture as you are trying here. I just think the unfocused front is a bit too large, compared to the rest of the picture.

i really like the composition and the very shallow dof.

Great Shot. It as if you can reach out and touch the rebar.

AnaGaztelu (Ana Gaztelu) added a critique 6 months ago:

Yo habría cortado la parte inferior tratando de evitar la sombra que queda a la derecha en la esquina que perturba un poco.
Saludos.

Beautifully peaceful shot.

Did you experiment with alternative crops like moving the boats further up the frame or tweaking the colours?

Hanssie (Hans Stellingwerf) added a critique 7 months ago:

Peaceful, very well composed (like the horse I saw before), another beauty.....

I'm trying to take his picture for the photo boards at work and I'm probably telling him to sit still and stop laughing. It ended in fits of laughter and big giggles, but I did get a good 'official' portrait as well. This one sums him up, though!

How can one be a purist about how people laugh? Surely fun and laughter, i.e. emotion, is about more than having your eyes open?

dcuthbert (Daniel Cuthbert) added a critique 1 year ago:

Photography is full of experts who believe the rules should be followed and rarely broken.

i believe thats utter bollocks

beckn32 (Kim Norton) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like that his eyes are closed because you truely caught him in a moment.

TheAntipodes (Menno van Zaanen) added a critique 11 months ago:

I like this almost candid shot of somebody laughing. The overall colours are quite toned down, but perhaps that makes the contrast with his skin greater. This puts even more focus on his face.

great shot, i like this
it makes me smile

a cute puppy! maybe put more focus on the doggy fur than what's on the grass? Or perhaps I'm talking sharpness? I'm really not sure.

blaze883r (Fernando Bordallo) added a critique 8 months ago:

What a wonderful puppy!! :D I would try to take the pic a little lower, but it seems to be a little difficult, unless you were laying on the grass! ;)

chefron (Ron Ernst) added a critique 8 months ago:

If you have to lay on the grass then it should be done. Lower would be better.
