I like how the color of the flower pops out of the background. Nice job.

Interesting take on a typical subject. I like it! I almost thought at first that you had desaturated the other flowers but was pleased to find out that they were originally white.

Beautiful shot. I like the angle, it makes me wonder what might be inside the flower.
ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) added a critique 4 months ago:
Outstanding colour! Being nit picky, I thing the image could be improved by not centering the main subject. Put it off to one side and use your excellent DOF to blur the other side. But overall, a nice image mate.

I am a big fan of flower photos, but to me it is just missing something. Looking foward to seeing more. Mabye like scott said shooting it a different angle.

Nice macro. But background not attractive and didn't suite for this image!
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 3 months ago:
I agree with Mikhail, the background is distracting, but the flower is lovely and the capture is very nicely done. A higher camera angle exposing the stamen would be more interesting and might have provided a more neutral background.

tamara, thank you for your comment and proposition,
i'm sorry my english is very awful so i did not understand wich version is better in your opinion : the earlier or the second one ?
sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 4 months ago:
Oh, sorry I wasn't clear. I like the second one more.

Cute. Center is a bit out of focus. Was that intentional?
photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) said 4 months ago:
no that was not intentional, in fact this shot was taken with a photo-phone, i guess that explain the focus problem
hampshire added a critique 4 months ago:
Very beautiful and sweet face! Love the black and white.

looks pretty great considering it was taken with a phone, I wouldn't have guessed it

I've always loved blurred waterfall shots but you might have gone a bit to long on the exposure on this one. The part of the falls on the upper right is just complete white, no contrast or lines at all. You probably could have gotten away with a fairly fast exposure and still got the effect. BTW, how's this look in colour?
CEG added a critique 4 months ago:
Nice shot. The water seems cloud-like. I'd like to se it in color also.
misu (Mikhail Palinchak) added a critique 4 months ago:
Nice photo. A bit sharpened would be great!

Nicely done. Is there an effect on the water or longer exposure? It looks string-like. I like it a lot.
photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) said 4 months ago:
for this shot i used a neutral density filter in order to use a longer exposure but no particular effect or pp

thanks for your kind comment. I like that the moss-covered rock is prominent but my eye still goes to the water!
ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) added a critique 4 months ago:
ahhh, so you do have a colour version hahaha. This is much nicer to me but I still think the exposure was just a bit to long. The fall on the left is just a tad over exposed to me. A very pretty spot.

Hello, in what relates to me the major defect of the photograph is a lack of contrast in order to give relief to this image. An angle different of catch of sight, would have made it possible to give a more original aspect to your vision. Indeed, a point of hangs lack to the image. Nevertheless, you have chooses the good topic to present it. Continuous, and return quickly to make us share your work. Greetings.

Hello, it seems to me that the photograph is fuzzy, perhaps due to the compression of the image in order to present it on the site. Your exposure is correct, with some points of over-exposure, but that is not crippling. DoF shorter would have allowed the setting in front of a flower to make in particular, and thus the photograph more readable, with a center of percussion interest. At all events, beautiful test and I await your next image. Greetings.
photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) said 4 months ago:
thanks for your comment, you're rigth the compression for the site did not help this picture but this is not the only reason, this shot was made with a compact cam and i could not do exactly what i wanted
