This could be called a 'messy' image, but it is well executed -- the colour of the branches, the droopy icicles catching the light like little drops of the rainbow, and the brown leaf, all come together very nicely. love it.

Lolly,

Thanks for the critique! I appreciate any thoughts you may have on my work.

Sincerely,
Jon

Hi Jon,
my main issue with this image is that it lacks sharpness, especially on the leaf, which looks like the 'subject' of the shot. It looks as if the icy reflections fooled the camera AF.
I also think that a shallower DoF would help unclutter the composition and put focus on the leaf. Off-centring it a bit more might also help.

And I have to say that I'm jealous you can get ice, it's desperately warm over here :)

Alexandre,

Thanks for your critique. I think you are exactly right. Don't be jealous of the ice - it's deadly! By the way, love your work - I see it Onexposure as well. You have some lovely photos!

Best,
Jon

Pareciera que la hoja esperaba, pasando mucho frio, que llegara el fotografo. Enhorabuena por su trabajo. Saludos

I like that the stick at the top is sharp and then the rest sort of just begins melting away. I think that the "subject" of this shot would lend itself to many different compositions to elicit similar sorts of reactions. Well see and I like your interpretation.

Thanks, Boyd!
