I like the exposure very much. The man appears to be framed by the hood above. Great composition.
I would like to see a 4x5 crop version (landscape of course).

wow this i love this picture. it seems almost like a...stationary dance. really nice eye

Very nice picture.
I really like the muted colors all around other than the human element.
Lighting is wonderful!

un bel éclairage et un cadrage au poil! la tête coupée ajoute l'élément discordant que j'aime bien dans les photos. Je cours voir ton site par curiosité

Very cool.
The composition of this is great.
I like the inclusion of the colors and the massive distance that they stretch across the image.
That one line is a bit distracting but that is not enough to ruin the image for me!
billbooz (Bill Booz) said 1 year ago:
This is great, folks, and thank you very much for the feedback! Hadn't thought of cropping the foreground grass, but now see what you all mean as I look at it with different eyes.
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:
Sweet barn. I love barns.
The grass in the foreground doesn't bother me so much, maybe a bit less of it, but for me I think that the sky is so washed out that I would have framed it or cropped the sky out altogether.
I think that you could pull a little more contrast out of this as well.
There is a little something going on with the grass though. I am not sure what it is. It looks like a light, blurry smudge that runs from the center bottom and up toward the left lower area on the grass. Do you know what caused it? It almost looks like it could be some sort of reflection.
Onepixelshy (Mike) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think this picture has great potential. IMHO it might be a good idea to crop a a little of the sky out and move the barn to the left and down (rule of thirds sweet spot perhaps) and bump up the contrast. Or maybe a little selected saturation. Those are just some suggestions. Keep up the great work.

Very nice work - I agree with Laurie in regards to the sky, however. Beautiful piece of country!

Yes, you're right with the colors, but it was a cloudy day, it even started to rain 10 minutes after this picture. I didnt't have any idea how to make it better...

Great take on the theme.
I agree that everything looks muted but i do like the composition!
paddlepunk (Holger Neu) added a critique 1 year ago:
well... there could be better contrasts, it looks a bit foggy^^ quite easy with post processing ;)
photo24 (Sven H.) added a critique 1 year ago:
contrast !
hard time to identify the topic. but you had an eye for the interesting beach shape ! if its not done from a helicopter, try to redo it.

Sven is right, of course. Lovely view and composition anyway!

No HDR here... I've played with HDR, but I've not had any luck with it, yet. I'll check to see if I have a shot with a higher camera angle, and post it if I do.
raphshap added a critique 1 year ago:
great shot, i just might like to see it in black and white with a high contrast level, i think that would make the graffiti and the grasses really pop and make a cool atmosphere
LadyWings (Kara Brothers) said 1 year ago:
I actually did shoot this in black and white as well, but liked the color better. I'll put up another black and white bridge for you though.

i think this is a really cool find, and i love pictures with bikes...i think maybe what could have made the photo more interesting would have been a wider frame, including more of the setting, with the bike in the center or maybe even the corner. in that way the bicycle would still be the subject of the piece, but more could be included in the frame. that's how i would have shot it anyway
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:
THis is a great B&W! I would definately like to see a wider crop with the bike off to the right. Maybe even put a slight, slight s-curve to the photo to bring out some of the brick, too.
migtex (Miguel Teixeira) said 1 year ago:
Many thanks to all.
Raphshap if I understood right I should have step back and got a wider perspective, right?
tzirlott (Tom Zirlott) added a critique 1 year ago:
So that’s where my bike ended up. Nice picture with tones from black to white and everything in the middle. What is that white streak in front of the tire? If it is on the brick I would move the bike. It looks like dust.

I agree with the soft focus comment but this is a REALLY cool shot!! I want to see this is in B&W!!!!!
Blumie (Sabine) added a critique 1 year ago:
I do not want to see it in B&W since I love those golden colors here. A very inspirating shot of an amazing view of nature. Good stuff!
kazik (Kazimierz Salwa) added a critique 1 year ago:
I have the problem with focusing my eyes on something, as part with in-focus are divided by out-of-focus parts. Because of this, it is difficult to enjoy texture.
marcouet52 (Mario Arcouette) said 1 year ago:
Thanks all for your comment, I must agree
the soft focus is disturbing, I was using a 100mm macro to create a 3d effect as the sharp leaping out of the soft, Kasik dont try to focus just look at it in whole, if its still dont work i will gladly redo my work next week

I like this - it works for me. I think it would lose a little in black and white. Very nice comp. and colors.

this is a great perspective, but the focus bothers me...it's really sharp where those two holes are but not at the beginning of the frame and not at the end of the bridge. the fuzzy tree is tantalizing!
Pixim (Eric) added a critique 1 year ago:
You would have to, perhaps, take it other side to have a direction of reading since the left towards the line. Concerning the depth of field, a more important opening (for example) would have made it possible to determine your photography more. Despite everything, a will to build and an attempt to be improved. With the next one.
LadyWings (Kara Brothers) added a critique 1 year ago:
I love your POV here, but I wish more of the bridge were in focus. I might also soften or blur the trees and sky, to improve the DOF a bit.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:
This works for me. Beautiful textures in the foreground - thanks for sharing.

Is this the natural color of the clouds, if so, very unusual and very nice.

Nice framing, the vertical format makes it even more impressive.

Thanks for the feedback! It's actually not the color of the clouds. I adjust the levels and curves slightly and used Luminosity under blending options.

Overall I really like this image. The human form is a strong element in any image, and in this one I find my eye is drawn to the escalator where the people are and doesn't want to leave. I have to force myself to look at the other half of the image, and then I question why it is there. The stairs do not seem to add anything to the overall image and are more of a distraction for me. I think I would have been inclined to crop them out.
Looking at the main part of the image, the lighting is really terrific and helps give the image a kind of gritty, graphical quality that I really enjoy. I like the range of tones and the colours, especially in the metal railings. Good choice for the theme too.
