I find this to be compelling - makes me wonder what the man is looking at....what's happening off frame. The overexposure is used well here.

i have to agree. it really dose make you wonder what that man sees..and i also like how the overexposure is use.. because if this were a darker picture i dont think it would stand out as much.
keep up the good work..jason

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 10 months ago:

The man is interesting, but too soft. The left of frame is so overexposed as to not seem balanced. The image just gets lost over there. This might be a case for a subtle border. The "look" of the exposure is very subjective. I don't particularly like it, but I don't mean that as a critique. If you had maybe kept some detail in the sidewalk to help define the scale of things, maybe it would seem more connected?

Not sure that made any sense...?

le flou je ne m'y fais pas sur ce genre d'image alors en plus la surexposition non vraiment

I see problems on the focus, I´d like to see it clearly, specially this expressive old man. The exposition, why not? Good work!

Excellent image! I love the effect you have created here.

Best,

Thanks everyone for your comments! It really is constructive, personally I like overexposing, and the blurriness was due to image size and resolution. But thanks anyway, it's good to have different perspectives, I now see that maybe a little more detail on the sidewalk could help.
