I do like it very much. The shiny golden colors and the heart-shape shadow is amazing.
About the enlarged hand: you're right, this is a minus of the photo. I suggest cropping half of the photo, in the middle of the metacarpal of the thumb (don't know how to explain in English, but that's the part of thumb what's in the hand itself).

I agree the that the out of focus area of the hand is a bit distracting. I think the suggestion above is very good, in cropping at about half the thumb, if i read the comment correctly.
Wonderful light and exposure on this shot.

I agree with the palm issue, but I find the subject choice awesome however!

agree with all of the above
really like the detail of the fingers and lighting too

Generally I am not a fan of selective desaturation - in this case this is the exception - nice stock photo

This is a really nice picture
I really like the heart shadow
I covered up the bottom part of the hand with a piece of paper and I personally didn't think it looked right
I like the way it looks with the whole hand
but thats just me =]

Thanks for the suggestions. I do want to keep the palm in there adn maybe just squeeze in the palm area in PS. Also if I were not shooting my own hand and holding the camera I could have compressed the effect to a greater degree. Thanks for the suggestions. MCS

I guess I disagree with most of the others except for cvsuave. The DOF immediately draws your attention to the ring followed by a second attraction to the heart shadow. I think it awesome just like it is.

I like the palm in there, but might rotate a bit to the left, so your hand is flat?
Otherwise it's pretty dang cool.

i think it's a nice use of selective coloring. i agree with the comments about the palm, though.

I love the detail of the fingerprints and how the ring is in colour and the heart shadow. But i agree with above about the palm being a bit of a distraction. But overall i really like it.

I recognize this photo! I recently read an article in one of my many Photography magazines - showing how to do this image. Well done! I would crop out some of the foreground though to give the ring more prominence in the photo.

I would appreciate a reference on this magazine as I have seen the effect in a book before but thought that the hand effect was origional. Thanks

Just wondering overall if you like this and if the palm area of my hand is a bit too enlarged and distracting form the overall heart effect. Thanks MCS
