Yes, very nice. The stark contrast between the color and nature of the two liquids is smart and well seen.

This is eyecandy, Thomas, to be sure! Very interesting and beautiful work.

The Calatrava is always one of my favorite subjects. Beautiful shot. And good job not having any people in the picture-thats always a hard thing to do here!
kufever (Yvette) said 1 year ago:
Thanks to all.
And selaux - you're right it's very hard to get a shot without anyone in it. I was lucky that it was almost closing time!

I also wanted to tell you that if you need some help with that Holga, let me know. Im a student and we just finished getting to know her in class. I also resently bought my own and it came with an awesome book- I could scan a few pages and email them to you if you like!

The lack of texture on the cheek is a bit disturbing for me. IMHO, either you should have left a few, or have taken off all textures everywhere on the skin.
pete (Pete) added a critique 11 months ago:
what a range of textures! although it does look like you have smoothed the cheek, to an excessive amount?
i would have liked the eye to be a bit more open, as the blue colour is great, and more of it would be even better!!
cool ideas
ReinerMueller (Reiner Müller) added a critique 11 months ago:
I agree with MMeye and pete that the lack of texture on the cheek is a bit disturbing. But nevertheless this is a very impressive image.
RachelValley (Rachel Valley) said 11 months ago:
This is titled "warning". My vision for this piece is that at first you see perfection, yet when you look deeper into the person the detail abruptly appears. Highlights plunge into fire then dark all with intent of alerting the viewer to make a judgement upon approach.
Thanks for all your comments..truly appreciated.
crahan (Thomas Bouve) added a critique 11 months ago:
Very nice image, but I agree with the others about the lack of texture on the cheek. Her eye, although only slightly visible is stunning.

Very strong photo with a lot going for it to be sure. I think this would be made stronger, however, by cropping out the subject on the far left. Just my 2 cents.
selaux (Sarah) added a critique 11 months ago:
Very nice! I really like it with the girl in it- gives me a sense of proportion. The sky may be a little over exposed in the middle- I'd like to see more detail. All in all, impressive work.
gold-coast (Rod L'Huillier) added a critique 11 months ago:
Great capture of a unique landscape, I agree with previous comment about the sky. Maybe a little more saturation, little more darkness or some sharpening...not sure which. Great stuff and I hope you've got some more to share!
mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 11 months ago:
Wonderful panoramic shot.
Great coloring and details.
I like the inclusion of the figure as i like to see the scale.
The sky toward the right hand side could use a bit more color so that it matched the rest of the shot.
Other than that, great job!

I like how you cropped this....It makes me want to walk over and look over the edge.

I've always wanted to take a picture inside a tunnel- well done!
CyberCarsten (Carsten) added a critique 1 year ago:
Pictures of tunnles always have the potential to be special (and the wet tunnel especially). You missed that chance by choosing a too short shutter speed to make use of the motion blur, imho.
If this documentary shot you posted here was what were after - so be it. But if could have been a much more appealing shot with some motion blur.
kseniaC (ksenia) added a critique 1 year ago:
I really like this picture, but i agree with boyd that the exposure is a bit too much. But the reflection on the sides of the tunnel is great and I love the composition and all in all its a great pic!
antonio (antonio) added a critique 11 months ago:
i like it but it may be a bit too much light at the end of the tunel if you know what a mean!!. maybe if the tunnel would have been long enough i would have taken the picture as soon i enter, so the dark part would appear longer. but it is a nice one!
Gecko (Can Cellek) added a critique 11 months ago:
I've always wanted to put a tripod into a tunnel and have lots of shots.. I know it is hard, but if you have a chance, try to shot with different exposures and blend it in Photoshop or special programs to blend it (This technique is called HDR). With this technique, you'll have the right exposure in every part of the picture..
Good luck!

It's simple, but sharp. I like it.
selaux (Sarah) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like this one but I would like to see it in color also. I think it would add that certain something...
boyd added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the strength of the composition, but I would have liked to see the face of the stone a little sharper - it seems the focus is slightly "behind" the stone face and leading edge of the leaf. Interesting subject nevertheless.
AgathosDorea added a critique 11 months ago:
I love the simplicity and the contrast of textures--I believe that something is needed in terms of creating a more striking image--overall, it's a wonderful image.

This would profit if the shot were just a little bit sharper, I think. Nice atmosphere.

Very nice and sharp but I long to see his eyes.
CodeRed (Cody Redmon) added a critique 1 year ago:
Yes, very nice and sharp, good depth of field. I think the depth of field could have been used more strongly in the image. The dark region all along the right side pulls you hard that way, but it's the shadow of the lampshade that my eye wants in the background. I think I might have placed his head more on the right side of the frame, leave the light and shadows of the background to compliment the foreground. Still, this is a nice clean exposure with great range in tone. Thanks for submitting.
DREED added a critique 11 months ago:
very clear shot. I would have like to know what he was doing or see his eyes.

Kid pictures are always wonderful. This one is especially nice. Wonderful color, adorable expression.
culinarytalents (Doug Gilletz) added a critique 1 year ago:
try to get lower to the ground. the relationship between the subject and photographer is crucial to a great image. also try to use the hit points to position the subject off center from the frame.
nice contrast.
C_Holbrook (Christina Holbrook) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think I can actually "feel" the grass! The child's expression warms the heart.
Really well done. The gradient light in the background is one of these photographic details what makes the difference between a good and a very good picture.

Thomas
P.S.: sorry for my unperfect english
