Thanks, always nice to hear!

Do you use Photoshop or any software that has lens distortion correction. This technique could have helped this a lot. I would, also, crop out the door latch in the upper left corner. I love the broom handle against the wall, in the warm light. It is the best part of the image to me.

the white bar is actually the frame to the mirror. thank you though.

I love this kind of photo, espacially for the mood (as soreks), reinforced by the blurry figure of your model. Two (little bad) things, IMHO : the white bar (as soreks said) and the four-fingers hand...where is its thumb??? ;p
Great photo!

I really like the pose & composition, however I'd like to see her face lit up more and the candles & frame not so bright. I think they take away from the main subject.

I really like this shot! I vote for keeping the frame because it's a reflection and I just like photos like that! I love the blurriness of the model. Can the candles be toned down a bit? I think so, too - maybe even the whiteness of the frame (eventhough I like it in there) cause I gotta agree that I want to see her first but I'm distracted by their brightness. Overall, this is an excellent image!!

I dont know if it's because im not as technically advanced as everyone else (still a student) but I think that everything in this shot works well. I love the white bar, the candles and the high contrast black and white.

mb better for the solitude category.

I would not touch it. The bright background is a good contrast to what you could imagine this person is feeling. They are just outside of the light in their own darkness. Very nice image.
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with tzirlott. I really like this! The bright light creates such a perfect mood for this photo. I would only straighten the baseboard. It kind of trails upward to the right. But I'm weird and only I would notice something like that... ;)

Love this picture...lots of feeling...leaves the viewer wanting more.

I love this one. I myself have takin many a self-portrait with a single backlight. I think it adds that dramatic, lonely aspect. I also like how there is no other detail in the shot.

No pressure here, I hope, Brandon. We're just kindly asking. But we can also understand one doesn't want to share. Not a problem at all.

He does similar work and has been known to discuss his techniques, no offence intended, Jason.

Hey, I remember seeing this guy before. This shot is totally captivating. I would see it in the scary theme doing quite well too. (No offense to the man who is the subject.)

I am a bit alarmed. I feel like he can really see me!
Great job.
I love simplicity and colour, well done. And I'm very glad that you did not remove the broom, most people would have but it's add a little visual interest in the middle of the pic. Nice eye.
