Definitely something out of the ordinary. At first glance, a mere bathroom...but the water outside the window suggests this is not a typical 2-bedroom, 2-bath colonial.

Man! You are a cutie! The thumbnail doesn't do this picture justice. Got to see it large!

Nice shot, but I think it's a little too dark. I lose the chain in the background.

selaux (Sarah) said 6 months ago:

yeah, youre right. i did reprint it lighter but it is being critiqued by my teacher right now. Thanks for the comment!

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:

i like this shot, the contrast is not a problem imo, i'd like to see it with a little higher crop

op_perrin (Olivier Perrin) added a critique 3 months ago:

j'aime le rendu, on sent la rouille craquelée sur la chaine.

The scene gives me a nice feeling: at the end of the day, just relax and enjoy the view.

However, I think the whole scene is to dark and the high-tension power cables (and towers) are distracting me. I would zoom in/focus more on the watertower and granary (I'm not known with farmer-life, maybe the building are something diffrent, but you know what I mean).

GarrettHall (Garrett Hall) added a critique 4 months ago:

I agree that it is a bit dark. I don't think that you'll be able to find a better photo by cropping out the power lines because that would mean you lose the sky and the top of the silo. I have two different copping ideas. 1) Crop off the right half of the photo, so that the power line tower is "hidden" at the very right edge of the photo. 2) Try cropping out 2/3 of the large tree on the left, crop out 2/3 of the short grass on the bottom of the frame, and crop off the top of the power tower so that it exits the frame.

Last resort: go back to take the photo again and hide the tower behind the silo :)

... or let it disapear with some cloning

(takes less time then go back to this place, unless you made this photo out of your own window :) )

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 3 months ago:

I think all you need to do is to walk 5 or 6 paces to your right to get the electricity tower out from behind the silo. Then work with the color correction a little to give more depth to the tonal range and maybe try to pull a little more color into the sky.

je suis assez d'accord avec les remarques de Beamer.

O camera eh... nicely captured.

narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 6 months ago:

beautiful photo, I get a sense of lonliness from this photo, great job!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 6 months ago:

Agree with all above, my only critique is to straighten the image. In this type of image having the horizontals straight is very important.

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 6 months ago:

Well done, this b&w picture and the 'far far end' feeling I get. The only remark is indeed the small tilt.

CEG added a critique 6 months ago:

Great shot. Your choice of B&W really creates a feel.

Very creepy. Perhaps a bit more contrast would make the shot more effective. Nice composition

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 7 months ago:

Creepy subject, very interesting and imaginative camera angle. The exposure is blown out and the composition is cramped on the right.

jorgelopez (Jorge López) added a critique 7 months ago:

UUUAAAAUUUU Great!!! I´m sure thre´s a story behind it. Great!!!

guczo (Attila Balogh) added a critique 7 months ago:

Creepy.. I'd cut the top though down to the doll's forehead.

I feel as if these are being pushed at me. Too close feeling? Maybe some more space between them and the sides, too? It feels as if you cut off your subject.

daldao said 7 months ago:

I like it, but in black & white, it will be more intense.

I agree with willie901. I think a darker background (a little bit) would work better, giving more importance to the cross.

But I like it! ;)

Awesome shot. I love this one. I don't think it's overdone, I bet it came out just as you had envisioned it. Nice job!

Love the color, love the texture. the leaves on the ground especially draw me in. I would love to see this piece animate in some way.
