Absolutely tops! Colour is sensational and this may be one of the best uses of DOF I have seen on this site yet. You really get a sense of being pulled inward from the way you have composed the lines in this image. Really well done!

I think this photo and the DOF is excellent!

sweet shot. I like it turned 90 degrees clockwise!

Wonderful!

Great! I love the abstract feel here, with the shallow DOF.

Beautiful! The DOF is fantastic, and your point of focus is perfect for the symmetry and colours!

It's interesting - this almost looks like a painting. I find that sometimes when I ger really in close with my 50mm1.8 it gives me this kind of effect - there is a definite DOF progression yet nothing is really sharp and crisp. Works wonderfully here - all perspective has been lost - you can't tell if this is really small or really big.

Beautiful! I love the colors and of course, DOF. There's a feeling of realness to it.

That is one interesting looking image. This is very nice. Fits the theme well.

The effect that I get is soft yet sharp. Is realyl wonderful, not to mention the green color makes it look so alien like...

Makes me think of space, stars, nebulae... not sure why. Love it.
trancho (Bob Trancho) said 1 year ago:
That "soft yet sharp" effect may be nothing more than a bit of movement. I used a tripod and cable release but, since I was supposed to be busy gardening that afternoon not shooting, I hurried and didn't bring out my Plamp to hold the stem still.
I got lucky. The image as you see it represents an area about 1/2" across. The breeze and the sun smiled on me.

I really like how the center of the flower is out of focus. And the color is great!
