Thanks treehuggerish for the comment. This was taken at a wedding yesterday and there were other flowers overlapping this one, so the wider compo's that I shot were a bit cluttered. I did think about showing this capture with a tighter crop, but I felt like cropping it thigher diminished the great dimensionality of this subject. Which, BTW, is enhanced by the relatively narrow DoF. If the whole image was in sharp focus it would not feel as dimensional. The center part, BTW, is the sharpest, it is the tallest stamen and the higher parts of the petals that are out of focus, by design.

Clyde,

Well done! Must have been a great wedding:-)

Cheers,
Jon

Or was it really that great of a wedding if you are shooting the flowers? Lol just kidding.
Great shot.
I really like the red color and it really says a lot to me!

Wow - great lines and colors and reflections - that guy in your background, however, is a bit unfortunate for your shot. Excellent work overall.

Best,
Jon

Very cool.
I have a car show to shoot this next weekend and this shot is pretty inspiring to me.
I agree with the above comments, but no reason to run those details into the ground!

Thanks Mike. Good luck at the shoot.

I like fast red cars!! Pretty much most of my comments have already been said. Did you shoot this car from the front? Might hold more interest?

The background is fine, the problem, imo, is the composition. You could easily crop this to a square and it would focus so much more attention on you main subject. There is way too much showing on the right of frame. If you crop out the whole right 1/4 or so it would be better.

I agree with Clyde. You could crop from the right, cutting the big blurry flower of the image. Perhaps would some cloning, to get rid of at least two of the most giant flowers on the background, on the left also make a less crowded impression.

A thing I like about the photo is the soft pink colour of the flowers with the purple background on top of the photo.

Thanks for the constructive feedback! Never thought of cropping it into a square. Will do so in the near future.

It actually took a while before I discovered the bee. It is in its essence a very nice photo of a bee and a flower. Actually one of the better ones I've seen. What really hurts this image is, as others have noted, the cropping. Both the foreground and background makes it very hard to focus on the subject, so yeah! crop it and let us see it again... I'll bet it'll be a very nice photo then. I'd suggest a somewhat tight crop, try to get as much blue/green background and as little of the other flowers as possible.

Estando de acuerdo con lo expuesto, ayudaría si el insecto se mostrara de cara, pero es tan difícil, a veces, conseguirlo.....

I have to second what Beamer writes. My eyes really, really, really wants to see the top of the stalk, and a bit of negative space around it. Otherwise a very impressive shot. Excellent drops, very nice colors induced with the stalk and its texture that is more coarse and organic compared to the slick surface of the eggplant itself.

Storywise there is really nothing to it, but as a sort of "design" shot or a shot where the style and shapes and colors are important it is allmost perfect, except for the missing top part :)

Great job. I´d like to see more the vegetable, but in the other hand is different, so good joob. Sometimes this kind of photos are always the same. Great!!!

I like it the way it is. To me it just seems there would be too much negative space if it went any higher. Well, I suppose it could be just a little bit higher so that maybe the top frame stopped at the top or barely above the top of the stalk. Love the shadows and blacks. Came out very nice.
